Thou art the flaming thorn lodged deep inside my mind.
This one hurt thou with a burning blade made of fear,
And for that thou hast forsaken this one for eternity.
There hath never been a more sorry being than this one.
This one has a scar for remembering that grave mistake,
And shall always strive to avoid making that choice again.
Always and forever shall the dragon feel sore in regret
As it gazes upon you from afar since thou hast fled far.
The fire of love hath seared this one's heart with pain,
So this one shall be cautious around love henceforth.
Thy anger hath crushed this one like a large mountain,
And this one shall carry the mountain until thou takest it.A/N: This is a poem written while thinking about a dear friend that I hurt badly because I felt afraid because I started to develop a crush on them and wanted to avoid harming them more than I thought I had. I will be able to apologize enough to my dear friend who has distanced themselves from me, physically, emotionally, and mentally. There are no words to fully convey my regret and sorrow, but I feel this poem has helped me to get on the path to healing from the poor choice that I made.
