Bad Example

I served a time to show how much I cared about you.
Even though I tried to show you, you're blind!
You took my love and left me a hallow shell
Standing there calling out softly for you to return.
Never have you returned, unless I was to be used again.
I had other examples to follow but I chose you to follow.
For my loyalty and trust, you gave me pain and despair.
Three little words that used to mean something to me
Now are words used to manipulate and cause pain.
A few others tried to teach me otherwise what I know,
However these feelings are hardly fading from this heart.
Maybe now you will see how you shattered me, my example.
