It scares me when I get too far away from the people I care,
I'm unable to comfort them because I'm not there;
Although I'm not religious, I thank God it's 2021
I write nightly messages and my worries disappear.
When I know I've made someone else feel less lonely,
It brings a smile to my face, it's bells to my ears when they feel my sincerity;
But I wish they know as well, they're the ones I think about, they're the reasons why I feel safe
With them, there's nothing to hide, my life's full of clarity.
To hear their stories and thanks makes me happy and the morning calls
I guess it's not just them who benefit from it after all;
It takes courage to connect to people
I admit I'm not much of a wise man
I'd still join them in the dark and stumble next when they fall.
