As soon as they got into jays apartment they crashed down on the couch, "long day huh" jay said with a sigh. "You bet" Ivy joked back. She got up to go get two beers from the fridge, she opened them and made her way back to the couch.

She handed jay his beer as she took a sip from hers, they both placed the bottles onto some coasters on the coffee table and Ivy grabbed the tv remote. She went to switch it on but jay took the remote from her hands and held it behind his head, he was laying down so she gently climbed across him to try and get it back. She couldn't reach it so she looked down at jay who was laying beneath her with a smirk across his face, that was when she realised what he had done.

"hmmmm, lucky me" he said as he dropped the remote to the floor clearly not too bothered about it. She smirked back at him but her smile was cut off by hands around her waist and lips against hers. They headed towards the bedroom and went to sleep...

"Wake up sleepy head" Ivy said while throwing a pillow at a sleeping jay. He groaned and groggily got out of bed, she laughed at him and got changed. When they arrived at the district they walked into the bullpen to see everyone well rested all thanks to Ivy. "We've got a missing child, the kid was last spotted on surveillance footage outside of his home. He was snatched up by yates, the prick didn't even bother to hide his face" hank explained today's situation bitterly.

The unit nodded and headed downstairs to gear up, Ivy of course stayed upstairs. She continued to plough through the never ending paper work like yesterday, it was only around 1 hour until the team walked back into the bullpen with dull faces. "No luck?" Ivy said meeting the sombre mood. Jay shook his head and they all sat at their desks.

They worked the case and tried to put an end to yates' ridiculous games, it was around 4pm and a call came from Kevin's phone. "Atwater...thank you ma'am" he said before ending the phone call. "Sarge we got another hit on yates and the kid, an elderly woman said she saw the man from the news running past the park with the kid in his arms..." Kevin shouted from his desk. "Suit up, we're ending this and we're ending it now!" Hand barked the order at them. They all flashed a sad smile to Ivy since they all knew how much she wanted to take the son of a bitch down before leaving her alone again.

Something felt wrong to Ivy, she knew yates was slowly giving up but she knew he wouldn't give in this early. He was a smart but crazy criminal and even though he knew how to hide, he wouldn't just put himself out to the public like that. She knew either the lady was lying or yates had hit rock bottom, which was unlikely. She tried to shake the sickening feeling by getting on with the paper work, it was around 5:45pm and she had finally finished all of the paper work. She felt proud for a few minutes but her little victory moment was interrupted by scuttling coming from the back rooms, she was the only person upstairs and the unit shouldn't be back yet.

Fairly scared she made sure her gun was in her waist band by her belt and slowly got up to go check out the noises. As she got closer to the interrogation rooms she felt really uneasy, she couldn't see anyone until she looked in the glass window in front of her and saw Yates' reflection. He was stood behind her with a large kitchen knife held to the young boys throat who he had kidnapped.

"Yates..." Ivy said trying to sound calm so she wouldn't scare the child. "Let him go" she said while reaching for her gun as she turned to face him. Yates tightened his placement of the knife on the boys neck in retaliation, "not unless I get you in return" he teased her. Ivy slowly moved her hands away from her gun, "okay okay, you can have me just let him go" she agreed. Yates did as she said and let the boy go, the child ran into Ivys arms but she pulled him away, "listen to me, you're gonna go in this room until I say you can come out okay?" She crouched down and explained slowly so he would understand. The boy nodded in fear and Ivy slowly stood up, she opened an interrogation room and slowly pushed the boy into it. He ran into a corner and curled up into a ball.

"Okay okay, you got me. Now what do you want..." Ivy said while focusing on yates again and closing the door to the room the boy was in. Yates laughed then scoffed, "we won't be having our little conversation until you put your gun down, and we're somewhere private" he threatened her with the sharp knife. She gulped as he moved closer to her with the knife pointed at her, "okay yeah fine but I can't move unless you let me take you somewhere..." she said hoping he would let her move around him. He lunged at her but didn't touch her, he was just trying to scare her. She accepted his gesture but slowly walked around him and lead him out into the bull pen, she slowly walked over to her desk and lifted up her shirt to show yates she was taking her gun and placing it on her desk. "Good, now move" he said while pointing to the break room.

She walked over to the break room unarmed, he shut the door behind him and threw a pair of handcuffs at Ivy. "Put them on and sit down" he said while holding the knife at her. She done as he said and sat down on a chair that he had put out for her in the middle of the room. She felt like she was going to die but she didn't let him know that, "you nearly killed me once, I'm sure I can survive a second round" she said sounding brave. Yates laughed in disbelief, "you think you're so smart don't you? You think that you can just forget everything huh?" He said while slowly circling her with the knife dragging across the wood of the chair. The knife sounds sent shivers down her spine, "you know what it's like, growing up with no dad. We're the unwanted kids, the runt of the litter..." he said as Ivy gulped again.

She could see the time on the clock outside "the teams gonna find us soon, why'd you come here?" She said while trying to distract him. He scoffed, "if I'm gonna die, I might as well die in the process of murdering a cops girlfriend" he snapped while standing behind her and holding the knife to her throat. He moved her hair out of the way so her could get a better grip. "You'll rot in hell" she hissed through the grit of her teeth. Yates tightened his grip and laughed, "you might wanna shut your mouth" he warned her. She stopped talking and done as he said.

It was now 6:15pm and the team would roughly be back any minute, it was only a matter of time before jay and the unit found her dead or alive.
