A simple life 2...

Shes just jealous

                  She spent about 15 minutes filling in the paper work and she was ready to hand it in.  She made her way out into the bullpen and smiled at jay before heading off down stairs, "hey Ivy wait!" She heard jay shout from his desk.  She slowly turned around to see jay running over, "you don't have your hand print on the system yet, I'll have to buzz you back up" he said as he caught up with her.  She smiled and the couple made their way to the front desk.  "Hey Trudy, here's the paper work" she said while handing her the file.  Trudy looked at her in confusion, "paper work?" She said while taking it from her anyways.  Ivy laughed realising she didn't know yet, "yeah, I'm a part of the unit now. As of today" she said proudly.  Trudy looked at her in shock, "isn't that like a record or something? Worlds quickest promotion?" She said while looking at jay. 

            Jay laughed, "yeah maybe" he said while turning to leave with Ivy.  As they turned to leave they heard a girl shouting her name, "Ivy? What're you doing out of uniform?" Abbie said while joining them.  Jay looked at Ivy in confusion, "this is Abbie, we met at the academy" Ivy explained.  Jay looked at Abbie and smiled, "hey" he introduced himself.  Abbie smiled and nodded at him, "aren't you meant to be with your new partner?" She asked trying to join the pieces together.  Ivy smiled and laughed a little, "I'm apart of intelligence now" she said while proudly looking at jay.  Abbie raised her eye brow and looked at jay who nodded in approval, "you? Intelligence?" Abbie said kind of offensively. 

            Jay shot her an evil look, "yeah she's good for the job" he said while defending his girlfriend.  Abbie narrowed her eyes at him and turned to talk to Ivy again, "is that where connections get you?" She snapped bitterly at her.  Ivy grabbed her arm and pulled her to the side, "look I don't know what's gotten into you but drop the attitude, I got the job because Hank was impressed. Not because of jay" she said while giving her a death stare.  Abbie scoffed and rolled her eyes, "clearly that's where we all went wrong" she looked jay up and down then looked back at Ivy.  Ivy shot her an offended look waiting for her to explain, "maybe I should've gotten myself a boy toy too, see what that would've got me" she said with an evil smirk.  Ivy laughed back in disbelief, "excuse me?!" She raised her voice slightly.  Jay had noticed the stares they were getting so he split them up, "okay that's enough, go back to work Abbie. Come on Ivy we gotta get back to the team" he said while gently pulling Ivy away.  The two girls stared at each other in hate as they got back to work. 

            "She's just jealous" jay said as he buzzed them up.  Ivy scoffed and rolled her eyes, "yeah, just a bit" he smiled at her and they made their way back up to the unit.  "Fiesty..." he playfully growled at her as they parted their ways to go to their desk. Ivy laughed and shook her head with a smile.  They got on with paper work until Voight announced their new case, "14 year old male kidnapping, suspected gang affiliation and violence got him snatched up" he started as he put the teenage boys picture onto the board.  They all got a good look at him before listening to Hank again, "Dawson, kate you two go down to the family's place and gather up what you can" Hank ordered them.  Both of them nodded and left the unit to start a timeline.

"So you and jay?" Antonio started to get to know the newbie as he drove to the family's house. She laughed, "yeah..." nodding said in approval. He smiled back, "I better protect you with extra care then" he joked. Ivy raised an eyebrow at him, "is he that bad?" She laughed back. Antonio laughed in seriousness, "oh yeah, put it this way if anything happens to you. Im a dead man" he smiled as he pulled up to the house. She laughed and hopped out the car, as they made their way up to the door the mother of the young boy opened it before they could even knock. "Have you found him yet?!" She cried in distress, Ivy looked at Antonio with a sad expression. "I'm sorry ma'am we haven't found him yet, we would like to ask you a few questions if that's okay?" Ivy said while approaching her. The woman agreed and welcomed the detectives into their home, they asked her a series of questions about her son and what gang he was in, she was distraught but she was so eager to find her son she told them all she could. "Thank you ma'am, we'll keep you posted" Antonio explained before leading Ivy back to his car.

They drove back to the district and walked back over to the team in the bullpen, "the boys only been with the gang for about a year, so to them he's a fresh face. My guess would be that he made a wrong move and the team needed rid of the dead weight so they arranged his snatch up and here we are..." Ivy explained to them all, jay smiled at her. She smiled back at him discreetly and Hank nodded in agreement, "alright we have a location, gear up." He ordered them all, they made their way down to the cash area and got their vests on.

They drove to the location and waited for voights orders, Ivy and Antonio secured the back and jay and Hailey had the front, "move in" Hank said quietly. The unit made their way into the building and spread out, "we're heading upstairs, cover us" Ivy said to jay and hailey as she walked up the stairs with Antonio. Ivy made her way over to the only door on that floor and paused outside, "Chicago PD!" She shouted before kicking down the door, as they expected the young boy was chained up to a wall. "Hey hey hey, look at me okay? We're the police and we're here to help you" Ivy said as she made her way over to the young boy, he was frightened and he didn't want to make eye contact. "We're gonna get the chains off of you know" she said while Kevin walked over with a crow bar ready to smash the locks.

The team managed to get the boy back to his mother but they still didn't know who had done it, since it was late they were told to leave it for now and head home, jay and Ivy made their way down stairs and out to his car. "You liking the unit?" Jay said as he drove them home, Ivy smiled and nodded. "Yeah it's perfect" she said while smiling even more. When they arrived home they watched a film and went to bed.
