It wasn't long until Ivys ride pulled up outside of jays apartment complex, she grabbed her jacket and ran down to meet the blonde girl in the car. "Hey Ivy! Looking good" she joked as Ivy slid into the passenger seat.

Ivy laughed and buckled up her seat belt, "shut up Abbie, don't look much better yourself" she sarcastically said back. The two girls had met in the academy and they were both assigned to 21, it was a short drive to the station and Abbie parked in a space which from now on would be hers.

As they jumped out Ivy noticed jays SUV parked in front of the entrance, "that your mans car?" Abbie said while judging her arm. Ivy smiled and replied back proudly, "sure is". They both walked into the reception where they were immediately stopped by trudy, "Ivy! Nice to see you, and you must be Abbie?" She said from behind the desk. "That's me" Abbie said while Ivy smiled at her. Trudy handed them both their badges and guns, "these are sacred..." trudy joked, the two girls laughed but nodded knowing she wasn't all joking.

The two girls walked over to the locker room next to the front desk, "you two know each other?" Abbie said in suspicion of trudy and Ivys relationship. "Yeah, it's a long story..." Ivy summed up. Abbie nodded and let it slide, once they were sorted, all of the rookies made their way out to the desk for their briefing.

There was at least 20 newbies, it was a bit daunting for them all. "Okay so when I call yours and your partners name, I want you to stand to the side" trudy said while flicking through her file. "Anderson and Stevens, rider and Jackson, sanders and Erickson..." trudy listed the endless pairs until it was just Ivy left.

Fairly confused trudy closed the file and looked at Ivy, "I knew they would forget someone, absolutely useless they are" trudy said in her usual tone. Ivy smiled but was worried she would have no partner for the day, "don't worry, I'll partner you up with one of our ancient softies" trudy said while walking into the back. Abbie shot Ivy an amused glare, Ivy smiled back in fake happiness as a chubby old officer walked over to her. "That leaves us with Kate and Christian, that's it guys your squad vehicles are parked around the back" trudy said while making her way back to the front desk.

Ivy smiled at her temporary partner, he had donut crumbs around his mouth and his gun looked rusty. Despite the mix up, the pair made their way out to their squad car and they got inside. "We're stationed on 44th" Ivy sighed as she drove to the corner of the street they were patrolling. She pulled over and they waited until a call came in, the day was dragging in and it was 2pm, they still hadn't gotten any action yet. She was sat in silence while they were on look out, "I'll switch to main see if there's anything going on" she said as she turned her radio key until it clicked. She thought the silence was peaceful until her partner started snoring, in disgust she turned to look at the lazy officer who was asleep and drooling on himself. "Unbelievable..." she scoffed to herself.

A few more minutes of nothingness passed and her partner was still snoring away which was getting annoying. "Offender fleeing on foot, westbound on 44th" the dispatch caller said calmly over the radio. "Affirmative, officer 3798 responding. Stand by" Ivy said into the radio as she nudged her partners arm. He didn't wake up so she nudged him again, she realised that if she waited any longer the offender would escape so she scoffed at him and slammed the door shut. "requesting back up on 44th" she said into the radio as she crouched down with her gun held out in front of her.

As she crept into alley, she saw the offender running around the back of a house. "Offender fleeing southbound, I'm in pursuit" she sounded into her radio. "Copy that officer 3798, back up is on route" the dispatch caller responded. Ivy didn't waste any time, instead she chased after him. She knew she shouldn't have followed suit alone but since her partner was being useless she had no other choice.

When she made it down the steps of the house she saw the offender attempting the climb the fence, "Police, Stop!" She shouted which made the mans head whip around. He panicked and started to climb again, Ivy bolted past the gate and leapt through the the air. As she was about to fall to the ground, she grabbed the mans legs and dragged him down the wall, they both slumped onto the ground but before he could get up and run she pinned him down and knelt on his back.

Her back up had arrived and to her surprise it was jay and his unit. They were the ones who were chasing the guy in the first place, as jay and Voight stepped onto the back yard they saw Ivy pinning the guy down. "You move, I shoot your knee cap!" She threatened the man while pointing her gun against the back of his leg. Jay and Hank shot each other a shocked look as they were slightly startled at Ivys threat themselves. She saw them both standing there so she pulled out her handcuffs and cuffed the man up before throwing him to Kevin who had also joined them.

Ivy made her way over to jay and Voight while she caught her breath back, "you good?" Jay said worriedly. She laughed and nodded, "I'm fine jay" she reassured him. Hank smiled widely at her, "good job kid" he complimented Ivy. She smiled back at him and they all walked out to the front of the house to meet the rest of the unit again.

Hank pulled jay and Ivy aside, "nice catch but I gotta ask, where was your back up?" He said kind of annoyed that she didn't follow protocol. She rolled her eyes and looked over to her squad car, "he was sleeping..." she scoffed. Jay and Hank looked at each other with confusion, "why haven't you got a proper partner?" Jay said while staring at the 60 year old officer who was leaning against the car. Ivy shrugged, "I don't know, they messed up the paper work and missed me off the list so trudy had to assign me with Christian for the day" she explained. Hank nodded and understood, "well in that case, you did good" he added. Ivy smiled, "team effort" she corrected him. Hank laughed and looked a jay approvingly before he left to go speak to Christian.
