"Today's our day..." Ivy said while hugging jay from behind, today was their wedding day and everything was going smooth so far. Jay smiled and pulled her into a hug after tying his shoe lace.
The morning rolled by quickly and before they knew it they were separated and getting ready for the service, nat was the maid of honour and the female detectives plus Brett were the bridesmaids. As for jay, Will was the best man and the male detectives he worked with apart from Hank were the groomsmen. Hank had a really special roll, since Ivy saw Hank as a father to her she asked him to walk her down the aisle and of course he agreed.
"Oh my god, you look beautiful. Like a queen" Natalie said as the bridesmaids joined them in the bigger room, Ivy smiled and looked at herself surrounded by her friends in the mirror. "Let's get some pictures" Ivy said to them all sat they all gathered together and took group and singular pictures.

They all looked stunning, "your rides are here" the wedding planner shouted into Ivys room. They all shared excited looks before leaving to get into their rides, Hank was waiting inside of the wedding car for Ivy. "You ready?" He said while interlinking arms with Ivy as the car drove off. She nodded and smiled widely at him, she was so happy and her life was perfect.
When they arrived at the beautiful church they hopped out and got into position, jay and the guests had been notified that they were all outside and ready to start. "Good luck!" Natalie kissed Ivys cheek before the music started playing. The bridesmaids started walking down the aisle, once they had reached to alter they all paused as the flower girl ran down. It was one of jays relations and she was about 5, she fell over at the end of the aisle and it made everyone laugh.
Everyone looked at the door as the music for Ivy started playing, her figure appeared in the shadow with Hank by her side. The guests admired her dress and figure in awe, her face became visible to jay as she got closer. He let a tear of proudness fall down his cheek which made Ivy also tear up. When she reached the alter she stood in front of jay and next to her bridesmaids. Jay looked her in the eyes, "I love you" she whispered to him before the priest started taking.
The service went smoothly and Owen, the ring bearer, done his job perfectly. "You may kiss the bride" the priest said and the guests erupted into a sea of cheering as jay and Ivy shared a loving kiss which sealed their fate, they would live the rest of their lives together. They walked down the aisle with smiled brighter than the sun and made their way into their cars to the after party to get pictures before getting something to eat. "You look beautiful" jay said as the photographer walked over to them. Ivy smiled and gave him a kiss, they got their wedding pictures took and just like the couple, they were perfect.
After the meals were over the vows and speeches begun, obviously the newly wed couple gave their speeches but nat and Will also did. Hailey and Hank also gave shorter speeches. The time came for Ivy and jay to share the first dance of the night, their slow dance. They picked out "my heart will go on, piano version" as the song, it was long but not unbearably long so the guests wouldn't get bored. They danced passionately as they laughed and smile into each other's eyes, blocking out the crowd and treasuring the moment. The crowd let out huge cheers when they were done and then joined them to dance, the adults were drunk and tipsy especially Jay and Ivy since it was their big day.
It was time for Ivy to throw the flower bouquet so she carefully stood up on the chair and stood with her back to the crowd, jay admired her figure in the dress and watched her lob the flowers into the air. She turned around with a smile on her face remembering the night she caught the flowers and how happy it made her, she followed the flowers and watched them disappear into the crowd of women. Hailey threw her arms in the air and raised the flowers up, everyone laughed and cheered. Hailey was seeing someone but he was there tonight, "lucky you" Ivy joked as she pulled hailey into a hug. Jay watched his partner and his wife share bonding time as he and his brother drank some more beer.
The night couldn't have gone any better, they danced and celebrated non stop, once the guests started filing out of the reception it was just the unit and Will and nat, Brett had left with Casey. They stayed and partied for longer since they were all super close, "here's to mr and mrs Halstead" Hank sad as he toasted to his detectives. They all agreed and raised their glasses in honour of them. Once it got a bit late they all left, most of them got taxis home including jay and Ivy. They were drunk so they would've crashed or something, when they got home the party kept rolling further into the night and it's safe to say it didn't end until morning.
