"Morning" jay said as he woke up to Ivy already getting dressed. She smiled at him and he got up to join her, "we're engaged..." he said with a smile. She laughed, "we are" she agreed. He looked so proud and it made her laugh.
"There you two are" trudy said as the newly engaged couple walked into the district. They both smiled at the desk Sargent "hey sarge" they both said before walking into the bullpen. When they reached the top of the stairs everyone was smiling at them, "okay okay, you can stop looking at us now" jay said with a grin. The team laughed and they sat down at their desks, "can you work today?" Hank said with a smile. Ivy moved her arm around to check, it still hurt but the desk duty shifts were killing her so she hid the pain, "yeah I'll be fine Sarge" she said with a smile. Hank nodded an explained the case, "suit up" he said at the end and they all left to get ready.
"So when's the wedding?" Antonio smiled at Ivy, she laughed and shrugged her shoulders, "soon? I've got no clue, we'll talk about it tonight" she said with a grin. Antonio nodded, they arrived at the scene and they were ready to bust the bad guy. "Remember all we gotta do it get Eric then bring him back to the district" Hank said through his radio. They all agreed to the plan and jay, hailey, Antonio and Ivy went to calmly get Eric and bring him down to the station. "Eric Anderson, we're with the Chicago Police department. We'd like you to come down to the station and answer a few questions." Ivy shouted to to man, she was mainly advising him but she would forcefully drag him there if she had to.
Eric scoffed and turned around to face the officers who were now stood in front of him. "No thanks" he denied and barged past hailey. They all jumped in front of him in defence of hailey, "not so fast buddy" Ivy said with her arm out. Eric huffed, "look I don't talk to cops, especially female ones" he said before grabbing her sore arm and moving her out of the way. She winced in pain slightly before kicking Eric's knee which gave him a dead leg and she pinned him to the floor, "fine by me Eric, you're under arrest for assaulting two police officers. You have the right to remain silent and anything you do say will be used against you in court..." she said as she put the cuffs on him. Jay laughed and smiled at hailey and antonio as Ivy dragged Eric off of the floor.
It reminded jay of the time that got her promoted so he smiled at Ivy from behind knowing she couldn't see him. "Spread out and check the trucks, the dope's gotta be around here somewhere" Hank said while taking Eric from Ivys hands. They all nodded and started walking away, "is you're arm okay?" Jay said to Ivy with a worried look. She smiled and nodded, "all good" she said before checking the back of the first truck. "Clear" she shouted and closed the door. They checked all of the vans and Ivy got the last one in the corner, she pulled up the door and Antonio helped her up. "Woah, god. The smell" she said while covering her nose. "We got a body" she shouted from inside the trailer. Kevin and Antonio jumped up to see the body, "he's long gone" Kevin said while flinching at the stench. They all made their way back out of the truck and onto ground level, the three were a bit queasy but they shook it off since they felt with it all the time.
The crime lab rolled up and hailey and jay explained the situation. "So we've got a body but no dope" Hank sighed. The unit nodded in defeat, "let's get back and sort this out" Hank said before the team split up to go back to the district. When they arrived they investigated eric, Antonio and Ivy took on the interrogation while jay and Hank watched form the viewing room.
"I told you, I don't talk to female cops" Eric said with his handcuffed hands placed on the table. "And I've already made it clear that we don't care, now start talking" Ivy snapped back to him. Jay loved watching her interrogation tactics she was so cocky but in a good way. "Where were you last night at around 9pm?" Antonio questioned him. "My mothers house" Eric said with an annoyed glare. "Think again, where were you last night at around 9pm?" Ivy asked sounding annoyed. Eric scoffed and lunged at Ivy from across the table, she didn't flinch, not even a blink. She looked over at Antonio with an amused smirk, "you finished?" She said while getting closer to Eric's face.
Hank laughed from the viewing room, he liked Ivy, she reminded him of himself. Jay smiled at her bitchiness. "If you don't start talking then we'll just charge you with second degree murder. You'll do 15 years, maybe 20..." Ivy threatened him while fiddling with the file. Eric looked unbothered, "oh and not to mention the counts of assaulting two officers..." she added to get him talking. Eric rolled his eyes, "fine, I was at a friends house..." Eric confessed. Jay and Hank stood up straighter and listened in. "Which friend?" Antonio questioned. "Alex" Eric sighed. "And where does this Alex live" Ivy said while getting angry at his short answers. Eric laughed so Ivy slammed the file onto the table and stood up so she was towering over him, "where does he live" Ivy said with a bitter tone, she was leaning her fists on the table. Eric jumped at her reaction as Antonio looked back through the two way glass and looked impressed. "Yeah, yeah he does" Eric replied back clearly frightened.
"She's good" Hank complimented her skills. Jay smiled and laughed, "yeah she is" he agreed. Antonio focused on Eric again, Ivy stood up straight and pulled out a piece of paper and a pen from the file before slamming it in front of Eric, "write the address down, now" Ivy said in a slightly calmer yet stern tone. Eric done as she said and Antonio stood up ready to leave, Eric slid the paper and pen back to Ivy and she snatched it off of the table. The two detectives left to give Hank the info.
