Grand mama? She knows I am alive! We can go to her immediately! I must Always have hope that we can get there. "This is for real?" I ask hopefully, Knowing just as well it could be some awful trick by someone, Trying to trap us like they did in that basement like animals. I shiver thinking about but I must move on and get to Grandmama. "But we must go soon." He picks up his small doctors bag and I struggle to sit up as my head still hurts from my fall. "I can go right now, It'll be alright." I smile and put a small headdress on to help conceal my face "Come my dear we must be quick." He puts a hand on my back and leads me out the small room as the light hits my eyes I squint and look around to where we are. Nothing. All around us there is nothing. Just farmland. "Where are we?" I ask squinting and looking around, I hope we're somewhere near water, It will be easier to get to Crimea by waterway since it's a peninsula. "Samara." He starts walking over the fields as I follow, Samara? I don't especially know where that is, Geography hadn't been the main focus of our lessons. "Can we get to Crimea from here?" I hold onto my headdress as the wind blows gently over the wheat fields surrounding us "Well get there Mashka." He smiles at me as we walk and I get lost in my thoughts "What are you doing my fat little bow wow?" Nastya walks up to me as I talk to an officer standing on the deck of the standart as I blush bright red, I don't really like the name, But I can take the teasing "I am talking to officer Deverenko Nastya, Be nice." I say softly and smile at the officer "I am perfectly nice my darling!" She pats my head and sticks her tongue out at Deverenko "You are being naughty Svibzik." I say gently, I don't like to scold, But sometimes she needs it especially from mama "I am not! I will go play with Aloysha then!" She sticks her fingers in her ears and blows raspberries at me before stumbling off I smile as we enter a small village and i pull my headdress even further down, It would cost me my life if someone recognized me, It's a shame everyone called me the prettiest next to Tatiana, I think my sisters were all beautiful, Even if I felt left out sometimes. We walk down the dirt road my skirt blowing in the wind and dust collecting at the bottom. "Maria! Over here!" Dr Botkin whispers to me in a hurry and pulls down behind a log and I clamp my mouth shut. I can't see what's wrong yet but I know it's something terrible. "Look, Soldiers." He whispers and points to the reckless soldiers in front of us, Some of them are drunk. How could our beautiful Russia come to this? I feel a kick in my side and someone roll me over with their boot, And I see a man with golden brown eyes pointing a gun down at my chest.
