The weeks slowly went by with no invitation to come to England. Me and Teddy have slowly become friends and i see a part of him that i would never have thought to see. Instead of being tough and closed off as he first was when i came here,He is now kind and and compassionate towards me and in the evenings we sit by the fire and joke around as if we were old friends. And he is also an AMAZING cook! Meanwhile i can't even boil an egg without it disintegrating. So instead of cooking i do the cleaning in order to pull my weight i never liked just sitting around looking pretty. I have changed so much since i first came here I am getting stronger and i wear my hair up in a bun because it just gets in the way while i'm working. It is a strange life because we are just friends but to the rest of the world we are husband and wife and that's how we live. This is the life that i have always dreamed of but with an actual husband not a fake one. Maybe we should just get married. I mean i wouldn't mind and we already live like it. But i don't dare talk to Teddy about it for fear he will become closed off and cold to me again. One lovely day i was working in the flower garden at the front of the house and Teddy was fixing a leak on the roof and all of a sudden. BANG! It all happened so quickly it's a blur i remember screaming his name and running to him and then running for the doctor. It's strange how people's lives can be ended so quickly. I think to myself as i sit in the armchair waiting for the doctor to finish with him and praying to God for good news. Finally the doctor came out and i immediately stand up wringing my fingers. "He'll make it. But he must not have any strenuous activity for six weeks." I breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you so much doctor." i said truly grateful. "Your welcome Mrs. Burgess." His recovery took a total of 7 weeks and even then he wasn't completely better. He didn't perk up until one day there came a knock on the door. "A telegram for a Mr. O'sullivan." I took from him and said thank you and immediately opened it. "Dear Mr. O'Sullivan we graciously invite you and your 'Wife' To come to England for asylum" I squealed with excitement at this. And Teddy came into the room to see what the commotion was about. "It came!" I squealed. And he gave me a tight hug. And then to my surprise he put the gramophone "May i have this dance Mrs. Burgess?" That's the first time he had ever called me that. "Yes you may" I say. And we dance the night away.
