Above: Nicholas And His Family 1904
I quickly sat up. Are they coming after me? But why would they spare me only to kill me now and blame this old man? "Is this man involved?" One of the soldiers ask Espen. "No no, He's a drunk i just took him into help him today." Why aren't they recognizing me? I ask myself As i ponder this i reach up to stroke my my beard but i find it not there! Then during my moment of stupidity of thinking and not doing a soldier grabs Espen by the arm and drags him out of the store. "Please somebody help me!" He cries. But it is to late i can either save myself of Him And i have to survive no matter what. As i turn away i hear a gunshot and immediately spin around. There is Espen lying on the pavement blood coming out of his head. "Let this be a reminder to all that this is what happens when you break the law!" All of the soldiers around him start to cheer. So this is what Lenin has done to my beautiful Russia, Turned it to Tyranny. I would have never stood for this violence and he had just lost his brother too! I do not know how a human being can be so cruel. I turned back inside and saw little Ortipo looking up at me with his sad little doe eyes. I pick him up and bury my face in his fur and skin. "Thank god at least i still have you i do not know what i would do if i were to be totally alone." I put him down on the bed and i sob into him like i have never cried before and he just lays still as a rock and absorbs all of my sadness. The next day i get up and decide to wallow in my sadness for no longer I have to get to Crimea. I think to myself. That's where Mama went during the revolution ad she is perfectly safe there. I take what little money Espen has, I feel bad for doing this but i remembered his kindness to me and realized he would have been happy to give me money to get home. I walk out into the square and i see a few peasants burying Espen underneath a big willow tree. I walk over to pay my respects to him. "Thank you." I say quietly. I can't handle anymore loss so i walk off before i start crying and being the center of attention. I quickly get to a train station which will take me to the black sea so i can get to Crimea. As i board the train I hear a woman's soft voice behind me and the sound of a creaking wheelchair. "Nikolai?"
