Above: A 1918 Wedding Dress
There he was down on one knee leaning on his cane for support a ring box held open with the other. "Dearest Olga you are the love of my life and to good for me but will you do the honor of marrying me?" He says i can see the love in his eyes. "Yes my darling a million times yes!" He quickly got on his feet and picked me up. I buried my face deep into his shoulder. "i love you dearest." He says full of passion to me."I love you too my darling."We are to be married before we leave England by a justice of the peace. The witnesses will be Teddy's brother and a few of our acquaintances from church. My dress was Teddy's mother's that he gave to me the night of our engagement. Yes we haven't known each other for very long. but when you know you truly love someone you know. Our wedding rings are from my collection that i had sewn into my corset the night of the murders Just two simple gold bands that symbolize our love simple and pure. Nothing like the mess of arranged marriages where you have to 'Grow to love each other' Whatever that means. Thank god i didn't marry that lobster of a man Carol even if could have saved my family. But now i know love that i have never known before not even with those silly infatuations with soldiers. We are now sitting by the fire talking about how married life will be and what we will do after. We sit up talking all night because neither of us can get a wink of sleep. And finally it is the day i am to be married we are to go dressed because we will have no place to dress once we get there. Teddy leaves in the wee hours in the morning when i am trying to get some sleep already dressed. Finally i drift off into a restless sleep until one of church women wake me to get dressed. And finally we are off to the courthouse. My dress is a simple one just what i would have picked. Made out of satin in a drop waist style and my veil has flowers on the top and my bouquet is made out of roses from out garden. It all goes by in a blur until the doors are opening for me to walk down the aisle. When they open the doors i see how dashing Teddy looks and even from over here i can see he has tears in his eyes. I finally reach the altar and the Justice starts the ceremony. "Do you Theodore O'sullivan take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?" "I do." Teddy says positively beaming. "And do you Ekaterina Burgess take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?" "I do" I say softly. "Then i pronounce you man and wife! You may kiss the bride!" And we share a tender kiss.
