Above: A Formal Picture Of Alexandra And Nicholas
After about a week of staying at the farmhouse the dizzy spells and nausea still came occasionally but for the most part i was recovered. I had learned the lady's name who had saved me was Annika Petrova and used to be a country midwife. She had nursed me back to health and for that i owed her my life. I thanked God for this kind woman who had saved me everyday and she never took the paper so she had no idea i was supposed to be dead. "I Haven't taken the paper since Alexander III died" She told me one day. Of course she had heard that Lenin was now in power but not that i was dead if she knew i was pretty sure she would have a heart attack. And besides i looked much different then i did when I married Nikki. My hair was down almost to my bottom and childbirth had changed my body i almost looked unrecognizable. My hair was almost blonde from working outside so much. But i did not forget about my daughter that still lives. I think about her everyday and as soon as Annika declares me healthy she will let me go that was our deal. One day Annika came to give me a checkup to see if i was well enough to go. I was restless too go. "You know i am only staying because i respect you so." I told her as she examined me. "Thank you for that." She said to me. "No one has told that to me since my dear Ernest died. They have just called my a hermit and a kook behind my back. They think i don't hear but i do old Annika hears everything." She says with a chuckle as if being called crazy was a joke. "Your Husband?" i asked. "No Ernest was my son. He died in the war." At this i felt terrible because if he had come to my hospital i could have saved him i know i could have. "He died quick though. Thank God. No suffering he just drifted off." She had finished her exam. "That's the best way to go." I say thoughtfully. Thinking back to that terrible night my family had died. Except that one daughter who i must find and protect no matter the cost. "So do i have a clean bill of health?" I asked with a smile. Annika looked grim it must be that she didn't want me to go. "Do you know you are with child?"
