"...""..Ever ... again?" Hanako repeated, his once desperate eyes becoming much more darker than you'd think. He'd take yet another step forward in order to reach you.
"You mean you.. want to keep her away from me forever?"
Hanako.. obviously had a difficult time understanding his words although it wasn't difficult comprehending at all. Kou nodded his head, being sure that you remained behind him while he sternly glared at the apparition.
Honestly, he didn't know what he was doing... he was frightened of Hanako and the feelings he carried, but it was the fact that he was a potential threat that he was willing to protect you through and through.
The long pause coming from the other was suffocating, much like always, and the knife in the boy's other hand was gradually squeezed by his determined hand as a faint chuckle came from his lips.
"This is.. crazy.." Hanako uttered, stepping back and nearly losing his balance. To portray how dismantled in the head he was, yet another fit of laughter came from him as he touched his stomach.
You and Kou looked alarmed. Not only was he appearing like he was new to the concept of losing someone dear, he seemed like it was a bitter pill to swallow. "[L-L/N]... You're.. betraying me, just like that..?" The ghost looked up at the two of you, sorely heartbroken as it was proven by the way he trembled.
But something suddenly came over him, for he went quiet yet again.
"All I wanted.. was a friend again.. someone who could... share my pain and emotions.." Raising his hand and looking at it with a hurt expression, he continued, "Naturally everyone has their secrets.. and I didn't want to tell anyone, not until I think it's necessary.."
"But I have a reason for it, trust me! I'm not a cold-blooded killer!" He no longer knew what came out of his mouth, he ranted on and on just to convince you to stay.
The more you watched his desperate demeanor, the more you couldn't decide. If Hanako really wasn't a murderer... Then you wanted to offer him a hand of guidance, just like Kou had done for you.
Kou was notified in the way you shifted a step forward, clearly reevaluating the current situation.
Hanako noticed this too, as it was shown by the glisten in those eyes of his. However without fear of any consequences, the exorcist gripped your hand to keep you still. He gritted his teeth.
"I... still ... can't trust you..."
"I'm worried about what will happen if [Y/N] stays with you.. I... I know that I'm not just being delusional! I can.. feel your malice, and it makes me wonder if I have to exorcise you!" Kou shouted, urging a frown onto Hanako's face.
"So please, just.. stay away from her... I want her to feel comfortable.." He turned around, taking his hand away from yours to touch your shoulder, also coaxing you to shift around.
"H-Hey... wait.. don't go.."
"[L/N].. don't leave me..."
Spoke the apparition, resorting to a desperate tone, more so than before. He didn't care about Kou's words, even though it deeply affected him. Hate was stirring up greatly-- for obvious reasons.. Kou Minamoto. He was doing his best to make sure the both of you couldn't live happily with one another.
