MENTAL Deterioration. [Yandere! Hanako-kun X Reader]

Apparition 11: Realization

"This is bad... this is bad.. this is bad...!!"

You and Hanako stood beside each other while watching an alarmed blond pace back and forth in the center of the bathroom, his hands on his head. He was undeniably distressed. This continued for several minutes until push came to shove. "Kou..?" You spoke first, causing him to come to a halt.

"Why are you pacing like that? Is everything okay?" Hanako copying your movements and tilted his head in unison, the troubled boy on the other hand groaned, pulling harshly on his blond and unkempt hair in the process. "Obviously not!!"

He then rushed up to you, leading Hanako to tense up. Grasping onto your shoulder with one hand, and directing his thumb into the other boy's direction with the other, he loudly continued. "Teru's gonna get upset when he finds out that I haven't exorcised Hanako yet! I'm not willing to get scolded by him, either..." Kou lowered his head.

You couldn't notice the fact that the ghost shifted more closely, since you were sidetracked on helping to clear Kou's dilemma. His eyes were on the exorcist, though Kou wasn't able to focus on his glare right now. "What should I do..?"

"Should we try to convince him. You know... the same strategy you tried to use with my mother? Although I haven't gotten to know your brother that much, I feel like he's more understanding than her..." You then patted his back to raise his spirits, and this idea is the reason as to why he became a little elated.

"Yeah, you're right!!" Kou released your shoulder and moved his eyes right onto Hanako, who blankly returned the same stare. You looked at him as well. "Toilet-breath is actually a decent ghost! Teru'll definitely rethink his decision, so I think this might work! Right?" The obnoxious boy said, waiting for Hanako to at least verify where he stood during this plan of yours. Little did you know that Hanako was pondering about his morals himself, because as soon as he sneaked a glance toward you, he simply wanted you to himself.

'A decent ghost, huh..?' He thought, centering his hand on top of his hat to push it down. "I ... don't plan to be exorcised any time soon.. so of course; I agree with you completely." Neither of you could see what kind of face the apparition was making. His eyebrows were bending in jealousy, and twitched relentlessly as he tried to maintain his expression.

'I beg to differ.'

Happy to know that Hanako was on the same boat, Kou raised a fist in the air like he just overcame a great feat. "Yeah!" You were seen clapping, smiling happily, while the Mokke popped a few poppers out of congratulations. "I'll go ahead and give my brother a call! Give me a moment!" He moved away from the two, followed by the Mokke as he went near the door.

While he got himself connected on his phone, Hanako gave you continuous glances upon noticing you'd been staring at Kou. His arms crossing behind his back, he fixed his eyes on him as well, parting his lips ever so slightly. "...[L/N], if I'm being honest here.. It looks like you've taken quite a liking to the kid, Kou."

Hanako brought him up from thin air. And he could see that the mere mention of his name curled your expression into a sudden change, as well as sent your heart flying. He looked down at his black shoes.

Trying to catch your breath and redeem yourself, you shook your head to try to distract yourself from your anxiety. "N-No! It's no like that!" Although you avoided eye contact, you knew the apparition was very unconvinced. "I just.. really appreciate him, as well as all the things he's done for me. So... I can't help but admire and feel grateful over him."
