[ A/N: This is a long chapter, so saddle up folks! ]
---
Hanako's skin complexion paled, and a bead of sweat trickled down his face. He knew his phone had some form of blackmail, but this was too nerve-wrecking to even swallow.
"You.."
"..Recorded what I said...?"
His eyes appeared quite shaken. Now what coursed through his mind was your reaction regarding his actions. You cared for Kou so much... had he died by his hands-- you would be torn apart. Mentally and physically.
Kou nodded his head, appearing stern as his hand trembled. "I did, and I won't hesitate in sending this to her if you don't quit being so psychotic!" After he said this, a drop of sweat would also run down his jawline. 'Please let this bluff work..!' He'd take a quick glance to the door, 'I just need to buy time for Teru to come back!'
His heart was running in circles. He was fully aware that he couldn't do this alone, especially without his Raitejiou. Luck was lacking for him today.
Hanako pensively glared at him. His hat created a shadow which concealed one of his maniac hues, while silently he wondered if he should act irrationally. "..."
Although Kou reasserted his dominance by gazing right back, he was nearly manipulated by the ghost's stare alone. The sound of Hanako's shoe tapping against the tile flooring sent piercings of relief into his very soul, now he knew that he was giving deep thought into the situation.
Although, it would suddenly come to a stop.
Hanako began walking, not towards him however-- but towards the open door. Unable to witness his expression as he gently placed his hand onto the slider only slide the door close slowly, Hanako would remain where he stood for a few uneasy seconds.
"..What if I just kill you, and then destroy your phone?" He'd finally pivot on his heal, looking into his direction. Earning Kou's shortness of breath, Kou realized how serious the apparition was.
Hanako's eyes narrowed down to his device. "Doesn't that prove you're lying? If it were me, I would have already sent it instead of wasting my breath." Eerily pulling his kitchen knife from being tucked away in his blazer, he'd afterwards bring his arms behind his back. "Or ... perhaps you're seeking a negotiation?"
A negotiation? The word echoed throughout Kou's mind, and had actually caused him to flinch. Before proceeding to speak, a chalky lump in his throat had yet to be pushed down. "A negotiation sounds like fun, doesn't it? I'll give you this recording if you let me go--"
Much to his surprise, the ghost spared no hesitation in holding out his hand, stumping the other instantly. "Sure, just let me hear it first."
He just wasn't giving him any time to turn the odds into his favor, nonetheless win the battle of wits! Kou's silence not going by unnoticed, he averted his eyes. "U-Uh.." During this opportunity, Hanako made his slow approach.
When he stopped in front of him-- although with a gap between them-- he knew that this particular exorcist was now at his mercy. The next thing left for him now was to wait patiently for him to decide his fate.
"..You know, it's funny." Started Hanako, "This all would've been avoided if we didn't cross paths... I didn't even know I had this amount of bad blood in me in the first place..." He shared, raising his knife to aim it towards his adversary as his eyelids lowered themselves. This made Kou flinch and take a step back.
