Apparition 12: Kou and Cooking

"Hanako, me and [Y/N]'ll be leaving for today with Teru. We'll see you tomorrow, okay?" Voiced Kou, who stood beside his older brother with a grin. You nodded your head to concur, however the apparition didn't feel happy about this at all.

Before you could blink, there was a light pressure sourcing from your waist, and once you looked down a squeak left you. Hanako was intently hugging your waist, dangling the rest of his body near your legs. "Don't go, [L/N]~~... Please?" He begged, reduced to desperation. Your face lit up with flustered fumes, while you timidly brought your hands up to your chest, unsure about how to react.

Kou on the other hand, charged up to the both of you angrily, provoked from the ghost's constant childish acts. He never seemed to respect your personal space, nor did he have any shame in invading it. "Hands off, pol-turd-geist!" Shouted the exorcist, thumping his fist against his head.

Hanako would bring his amber eyes over to Kou, a pout forming on his lips. "What do you mean by, hands off? She's my assistant, so I can do whatever I want to her!" He retorted, not very bothered by Kou's aggression until he felt his palm press against his face in attempts to push him away from you.

"That doesn't mean you can touch her like that!!"

"Like I'd ever listen to you, wannabe exorcist!"

It felt as though a territorial dog had been barking at a hissing cat, and the tension between them only grew as you stood there, heavy displeased as it was proven through blue lines on your forehead.

"Wannabe exorcist?! That's it-"

"What're you gonna do about it, huh?"

You thought that the argument between the two would never end, but luckily another voice butted in, asserting not only his dominance, but his disconcert as well. "Both of you are obviously making [Y/N] feel uncomfortable, so restrain yourselves." Teru spoke sternly, his younger brother stiffening out of fright.

He backed away, and now it was only Hanako who'd remained close to you as he hugged your side with his hand snaked to cup your chin. He stuck his tongue out towards Kou, who's eyebrow twitched.

"Let's get going home." Teru turned on his heel and made his way down the narrow hallway, his sword close to his side. Kou gestured for you to follow along, and you did so obediently; taking one step before the other. However... the second you started to trail away from the apparition, he stopped you in your tracks once he seized your wrist.

"E-Eh...? H-Hanako?" Your [E/C] hues gazed at him, and instantly you noticed the loneliness in those eyes of his... after all, you've been well acquainted with that emotion. "[L/N]... I.." Hanako whispered, tilting his head towards the floor. He struggled with what he had to say, although it was something minor.

"I want.. you to stay with me..."

"Even.. if it's just for a little bit.. I just..- get bored without you around..." He admitted, not only causing your heart to sink, but the other boy's as well. Pain struck the blond's expression, and he couldn't gather the nerves to move since his curiosity of wanting to know your reaction held him back.

You were baffled, though your fluster was drawn out of hiding because of the tint of red on your soft skin. "..I-Is that so...?" A nervous bead of sweat rolled down your face, the silence between you two getting wider and wider.. until you parted your lips. "W-Well, you can see me tomorrow, just like always.. so just be patient okay?" Inserting reassurance was the only thing left for you to do.
