Christine had come to the conclusion that shopping probably was not her thing, but hanging with Meg'ann was pretty cool. The whole shopping trip Meg'ann kept her mental link open so that they could talk easier.

Talking with Meg'ann was easy, she did the most of it which Christine appreciated because she herself wasn't much of a talker if that wasn't already obvious. Christine did ask the martian girl some questions though, wanting to learn more about her and her powers. Meg'ann also asked the brunette girl those kinds of questions. While Christine's answers were reserved and more on the short side, what she told Meg'ann was the truth, even if it wasn't the entire truth.

Christine and Meg'ann got to know each other pretty well on that shopping trip.

They had gotten Christine the essentials. Clothing wise, Christine picked out a handful of casual outfits, and Meg'ann picked out a few cute outfits for the brunette as well. Christine tried to protest at first but eventually saw that it was no use to fight a battle she would lose. Plus, seeing Meg'ann so excited when she came out of the dressing room wearing the outfit that the martian girl had put together was kind of nice.

"Why would you buy this if you can just morph the outfit on your body with your powers?" Christine asked Meg'ann curiously as Meg'ann was checking out a few articles of clothing.

"I just wanna experience humanity in every way that I can!" She replied to the brunette girl with a wide smile as she took her purchases from the cashier.

As they were making their way out of the mall complex, as certain store caught Christine's eye.

"Could we quick take a peak in there before we go?" Christine asked tugging on Meg'ann's blouse sleeve and pointing toward the store she wanted to check out.

"Sure!"

The store was a dance supplies store and it had everything a dancer could dream of: platter tutu's, pointe shoes, ballet slippers, tap shoes, leotards, skirts, tights, you name it, it was there.

While Meg'ann trailed behind, Christine made her way over to the ballet slippers. Black Canary did say not to worry about how much she spent on the credit card she was given, and she really didn't overboard. Christine had decided that getting herself a new pair of ballet slippers would be okay.

Sure she already had a pair, but she had been manipulating them to repair the rips and tears from use for so long, they had reached a point where her repairs didn't quite fix them properly anymore. A new pair of ballet slippers would be nice. She had always wanted to try out this one brand of shoe.

Christine had a soft smile on her face as she exited the store with new ballet slippers and sewing kit.

Once they got back to Mt. Justice Meg'ann helped Christine get her bags into her new room before excusing herself saying she was going to put dinner together.

Christine organized her room and put the new sheets and bedspread on her bed. She placed her possessions that she had brought with her from France into a new box and slid that under her bed.

She sighed in content after she hung her old ballet slippers on her wall and looked at her new pair that sat on her dresser. She couldn't wait to break them in. Maybe she could go to the training room and do some barre work? She didn't know if this whole hero gig would include dance lessons, so she would definitely have to keep up with her skill on her own.

Christine sat on her new bed and pulled her knees toward her chest. This was her new home. Just as she was relaxing into the softness of her mattress, she heard a familiar voice hum an eerie tune that she knew all too well.

Her whole body went rigid. How on earth did he find her. Her eyes darted to the mirror above her dresser. She was met with her own reflection, fear painted on every inch of her face.

"Why so silent mi amore? Did you think that I had left you for good?"

The sound of his voice paralyzed her. There was no way he had found her already... Right?

"Have you missed me?"

She shivered as she saw a hazy figure appear in the mirror seated beside her. Trembling, she looked to her left to see nothing there. Looking back towards the mirror the hazy figure was still there.

"It seems that since I still hold control over your voice that there is still a connection between us mon chérie."

Part of the hazy figure reached out to caress Christine's cheek. It felt as if his hand was really there.

"GO AWAY!" She internally screamed, flinching away while shutting her eyes tightly. After what seemed like forever, Christine slowly opened her eyes and hesitantly looked toward her dresser mirror only to find herself once again.

Christine didn't know how long she sat in silence, waiting for the voice to reappear. Just when she thought she had escaped-

"Trice! Dinner is ready whenever you are!" Meg'ann said sweetly through the mental link causing Christine to jump in surprise. She took a few deep breaths to calm down her heart rate.

Of course he would still be haunting her.
