chapter 35: infiltration mission! *

After blitzing the hangar, we managed to knock out all the soldiers and pilots, who were now on the ground moaning in pain. Nothing lethal, just blunt force attacks.

"Great job team, I managed to get a map off of one of those goons. Not only that, if things go south, we have ships that work almost like ours! " said hanzo, dusting off his coat of debris.

"Almost? " I asked with a worried tone.

"Well, almost as in they can't transform into mechs and don't have the multiple functions like ours do, sven. Pretty standard and bare bone, some are customized, but given that these are clearly stolen, I'd have to say that these are standardized military ships. Something earth doesn't get their hands on until a few years from now. Which is actually how things are going as of now, so earth's forces are definitely getting an well needed upgrade. " he said.

"I see.... " I said as my brain sorta short circuited mid way through.

"Didn't understand any of that, did ya? " said makoto.

"I know I barely do... " confessed minako.

"More or less, according to him, things are going as planned and for the better! " said Haruka.

"Ohhhhhh! " said me and minako in unison.

Haruka smacked her forehead and grumbled under her breath. Probably calling us morons for all we knew.

"Alright listen up! We gotta get to the captain and pacify him as soon as possible-" Madori said, but was cut off by the intercoms.

"Infiltrated my ship... Destroyed my barrier.....injured my crew.... I'm going to make your little city down below an example of my wrath!! Fire up the drill beam, NOWWW!! " Qrow said before hanging up.

"Deploying sequence initiated... " said a crewman before cutting off.

"They're planning on destroying  crystal tokyo?!" Exclaimed Setsuna.

"This isn't good, our Queen can't hold back such a powerful blast in the state she's in.... " said teguma.

"Hanzo! We need a plan! " I said, worried sick for those down below.

"Everyone calm down! Look, we'll split up. Half of us go and stop the Cannon operations and half go to the captain! " he said, before a pirate grabbed his ankle.

"Please..... Stop him.... The flamingos and roosters haven't returned.... Urk...." He said in pain.

"What.... " I said in shock.

"Is he willing to kill them too?! " exclaimed Madori.

"Nay..... He's a loving captain.... He's been through so much.... We've been through so much....you gotta cut the power to the cannons as well.... It's an automated process even if you stop the operators...." he said barely hanging onto consciousness.

"Three way split then, we have to stop both the operators and the power supply before it's too late! Makoto, Madori, Katsumi, you go down and kill the power to the cannons. Minako, teguma, Michiru, you take care of the operators. Haruka, sven, Setsuna, you're with me! " hanzo said, giving orders.

The beat up Avarian looked at me oddly. I stopped and felt a Tad uncomfortable.

"A gekkan? I thought you guys were erased..... " he said in disbelief.

"Gekkan? The hell is that? " I asked, however, the poor guy fainted from exhaustion. How convenient...

"I'll explain on the way, let's go! " said hanzo as we all booked it down the halls.

The halls had a red and white color palette, with the flooring being a solid red and a white striped pattern along the walls, mixed with the rather shiny metallic surface. As we ran, katsumi's group made a mad dash down the stairs. Soon after that, teguma's group made a left down a hallway. I ran ahead to meet with hanzo.

"Why did he call me a gekkan? What's a gekkan? " I asked.

"Gekkan are a humanoid lizard race that lived on the planet.... Oh what was it called again... Genta'k. It's a planet a few systems over from the solar system. They have a strong connection to the rifts and spiritual energies. They're the next closest race, power wise, to the celestials who lie in the great beyond. Sadly though, the Yoru destroyed Genta'k and most of the gekkans. Some say they slipped into a rift and evacuated, you're living proof of that. " hanzo explained as we ran.

"But why was I in the demon realm?! I assumed for so long that I was a demonic lizard dude! " I exclaimed.

"Who knows? Maybe as a child, you were in a safer realm and then chaos screwed you over or something.... Guys a jerk."

"But I came into the earthly realm when Pandora awoken! "

"Did you go back in the jar when she was defeated? "

"No"

"There ya go, case closed."

"Up ahead! " Haruka shouted as she pointed to a small gathering of troops.

Hanzo stopped and held his arm to tell us to stop. He then pulled out a small, plastic bag and dumped it's contents on the ground. It was toy tanks, soldiers, and helicopters?! What on earth- wait we're in space- what in the name of the sun, moon, and stars was he thinking?!

"Heh, I finally get to show off.... Tinker toy command: LIFE!! " he shouted and thrusted his hand forward. 

His hand glowed and so did the toys. The toys came to life and got into position. Surely the weapons aren't real, right? I looked at Haruka and Setsuna to make sure I wasn't going insane, but there they were, jaws dropped as much as mine was.

"Tinker toy command: ATTACK! " he shouted as the toys began to advance and fire their weapons. The Avarians were stunned as much as we are, until they started flinching and yelping in pain as they were bombarded. Due to their size, they couldn't hit em, and even if they did, hanzo would repair them with his powers.

"Go! I'll hold em off! Get to the captain and take him down! " he shouted as we made a break for the hallway entrance that was half-way down the corridor. Gunshots, lazer beams, and cannon fire echoed throughout as we ran. I knew without a doubt hanzo had this, it's time to end Qrow's plans once and for all!
