chapter 28: chaos returns *

"Hotaru, please watch over san! Something is happening in the city and we have to leave! " said Tamono as she and kikko rushed out of the room. I didn't even have time to say "okay I will." or "will do! " to them because of how fast they were.

I'm was often regarded as the youngest of the senshi, being a few years older than chibiusa, but she didn't count because she time traveled and wasn't born yet. Now she's regarded as the youngest, and she's around eighteen I believe. I'm in my early twenties, but don't look like it at all.....which sort of aggravates me.

Seeing san in bed, sound asleep, makes me wonder what future he holds for us all. I've heard that chaos has returned and is, for some odd reason, after san's head and seeks his ever growing power. Alas, I must stay vigilant and prepared for an attack!.... But wasn't he heavily injured by san during the meeting at the halls of Crystal castle?

Transforming into my senshi form, I grasped my silence glaive in anticipation of an attack. When the door opened, I was prepared to swing,  until ami yelped and nearly dropped her tray.

"YEEK!! " she cried.

"Haaaaaa.... Geez ami you nearly gave me a heart attack.... " I said, lowering my glaive and sighing.

"You?! What about me?? I came in and almost got skewered!" She said, trying to calm down.

"We both know it wouldn't be the case.... " I said calmly.

"Yes, I know. Your strength is incredible, I'd probably be turned to goo hahahah. " she said with a light hearted chuckle.

She set the tray down, which had dinner on it. I'm to assume she brought it for me, since Tamono and Kikko just left. She hummed as she gently and tenderly checked all of san's hook ups, monitor, oxygen tank, and put fresh bandages on him. When I seen the wounds, I was nearly thrown off by the sight of them. He had nasty looking gashes in his chest and side. I was told he fought the monster that put that dark fog over tokyo alongside everyone, and that was what put him in this condition. Serenity was barely able to save him, it caused the silver crystal to crack. Apparently, the damage that the monster did on Tokyo and it's people was the straw that broke the camel's back, as the saying goes.

"Oh, that tray is for you. Tamono and Kikko said that they didn't want theirs while rushing outside to the city! I do hope that Hikaru and Rei are alright.... " she said sitting down.

I took the tray, sat down, and began to eat. It was just a meager sandwich with ham and cheese, chips, an apple, and a bottle of water, but it was filling nonetheless.

"Sorry, normally we'd have the usual foods, but the doctor insisted on these premade American meals because they're cheap and were in a crisis. " she said.

"I'm not upset, food is food and I'm grateful! " I said with a smile.

"Whelp, duty calls! I am a busy bee today!" She said, getting up and walking outside, pushing a cart that I could only assume was a food cart.

It became quiet and tense. I was completely on edge, wondering if someone was going to attack. A vision did pop up in my head overnight. A man in a trench coat, cane, top hat, purple hair, and had a evil aura with tendrils all around him. This evil felt so familiar.... But from where?

The lights began to flicker and I jumped a bit, however it was probably due to the generator acting up. When I looked across the room however, the man that appeared in my vision, without a sound or presence, was standing in front of me. 

I scrambled to by feet, launching the tray from my lap to the floor and went for my glaive, only to have a tendril grab me by the throat and start choking me, then pressing me against the wall.

"Now now, you don't wanna do that.... Think of all the lives you'd end just by swinging your little stick of doom... " the man said with a chuckle.

"Curse.... You.... Gah.... Who... Are..... You?" I said, choking.

"Why, my dear, I am Chaos.... Here to end my little rival over here.... " he said.  Chaos?! I thought Queen serenity defeated him!

He walked over to san's bedside, pulling his cane back, to which it tangled itself in tendrils to form a spear. He was about to impale san in his sleep!

"What... Victory... Would... You gain? " I asked.

He stopped and looked at me.

"What do you mean? "

"He.... Was in-"

"Uggghhh I'mma just drop you so I can understand you... " he said dropping me.

I rubbed my throat and gasped for air.

"Pandora's the one that inflicted the fatal blow... Haaa... Haaa.... She'd gain the victory, you would just be the means to his end. You didn't do the fight! You'd be considered just the vulture! " I said, inching to my glaive.

He stopped and looked at me, to which I froze up. He then walked to me and squatted to my level as if to condescend on me.

"Know what?.... You're right! How foolish of me to kill him in such a state! I'd have no pride, no honor- does it look like I care about what other people think?! " he said angrily.

I just froze and was speechless, I was vulnerable and couldn't fight back.

"Actually..... That damned red cloaked bastard would laugh me under the table.... " he said standing up and pacing back and forth. I slid to my glaive, and all in one motion, I stood up and aimed a thrust upwards. It would still hit him, but would just punch a hole in the roof. However, I couldn't move. I struggled, seemingly froze in time, but to my horror, he seemingly knew what I'd do and had my ankles, arms, wrists, and so forth bound in tendrils.

"Geez you're dense and dumb, aren't ya killer? " he said with a smirk.

"I... Can't... Let you... Live! " I said struggling to move.

"Ya know....i pressed your friend up in space for sans whereabouts just for shits and giggles really. I already knew where he was. Because see, i am unstoppable really! I can do whatever i want!" He said with a chuckle.

I gave him a scowl.

"Awww that's cute pumpkin.... Maybe I'll play with you another time. Right now, I have plans.... Big plans for sanny boy and you clowns. Ta-tah!" He said opening a rift, retracting the tendrils and leaving.

What he said, for some odd reason made me furious. I can't explain it, but he made me feel like I was a child to him. Out of anger, I punched the floor, bloodying my knuckles as Ami walked in, confuses at what she saw....
