The fire fight grew long as I grew weak from the heat. I couldn't keep the shield up and collapsed to my knees drenched in sweat. The ice shield fell from my fingertips with a loud, yet soft thump in the snow as the icy gauntlets I had on my arms crumbled off. Mars immediately grabbed my kimono by the collar and yanked me up, running into the alleyway to avoid oncoming beams.
"Haa.... Haaa.... Haaa... I'm sorry it took so long.... I just couldn't hit them!" Mars said, panting. She seemed to be getting tired herself.
"I got too hot, I couldn't keep up the barrier.... " I said, taking hand fulls of snow and putting it on me in order to cool myself off.
"We weren't getting anywhere! Despite being injured n all they could evade my burning mandala attack effortlessly! Urgh, makes me so mad and frustrated! " she said getting worked up.
"Well, they won't chase us at least. Maybe we can talk it out with them if we let them calm down. " I suggested.
"Hmmm... Well... We'll try.... " she said, sounding unsure.
We waited for the Lazer fire to stop, which stopped shortly after we stopped talking. As we waited, we heard them talking among themselves.
"Ha! They're scared of us! " said one.
"My legs are killing me.... I think I lost more blood, dancing around fire! " said another.
"Ssssss.... Aaaah.... I'm so sore.... " said one.
Mars edged to the mouth of the alleyway and leaned out a bit for a look. I slid closer to her so I could look too, but she put her hand in front of me as if to say no.
"Hey look, you're injured! Put down the guns and we'll help you! " shouted sailor mars.
"Help? Nay, the ones who will be needing help is you once the valiant cock brigade shows up! " said a flamingo.
"Cock brigade? " I asked to mars, who put her hand on my mouth.
"Don't say that word! It's a bad word! " said mars.
"What? It's just roosters.... Do y'all hate roosters or something?" Asked a flamingo.
"Ohhhhh roosters! Well.. Duh... Heh.... Birds... Heheheheh..... " said sailor mars, rubbing the back of her neck and blushing in embarrassment.
"Cock means rooster rei chan.... What'd you think I meant?" I asked, curiously.
"Nnnnothing! Just ah... Ahem! Listen, if you bleed too much you'll get frost bite out here if you haven't already! " she shouted to them.
"Well.... Looky there, here they come.... " a flamingo said, looking at the sky.
We in turn, looked up as well as three, rather large, ships landed near them, crushing the playground equipment they landed on in the park. The doors opened and seven rooster Avarians came out and began to give the flamingos aid to their wounds.
Just like the flamingos, they were humanoid with arms and bird legs. Unlike the flamingos that wore Pink and white jumpsuits with armored plates, the roosters wore black and dark red to match their feathers. They also had torso mounted devices that emitted a glow, which were linked to armored plates that also glowed.
Three of them stood guard, as the other four treated the flamingos. Instead of being armed however, they took on fighting stances and glowed of red and black auras. Me and sailor mars stood there across from them in the alley, indecisive on what to do.
"Aura..... That's something I thought only solar knight could do.... " said mars in surprise.
"Apparently anyone can do it, however, theirs is red and black, his is green with yellow.... " I said, peeking around mars.
"Things are about to get dicey, dummy me left my phone to charge.... " mars said, smacking her own forehead.
"Rei chaaaan! " I said, getting onto her.
"What? Like I knew this would happen?! " she said.
"We can't let them get away, we need to stop them! " I said, rushing out, ready to fight them.
"Hikaru! Dammit! " mars said, before following me out into the open.
"Icy wave! " I cried as I swept my arm in their direction and sent a wave of ice crystals jutting up from the ground at them. One of them leapt in the air and slammed their foot down, creating a burst of black and red fire, which stopped my attack dead in it's tracks.
"You will proceed no further... You are no match for us.... " said a rooster.
"My.... My attack! They stopped it?! " I said, rather shocked.
"It's fire, your polar opposite.....let me try fighting fire with fire! Fire soul snake! " she said, sending out a snake made of fire. It slithered through the air and headed towards it's mark.
"Crimson fire smother! " a rooster shouted as he sent a spiralling torrent of fire with a palm thrust. The strangest part however, was that it extinguished the fiery serpent instead absorbing it, because it vanished on contact. The flamed spiralled through the air and nailed sailor mars, sending her flying, and skidding down the street.
"REI CHAN!! " I cried.
She slowly got up, grunting in pain as well as being covered in scorch marks.
"Nggh... I'm fine... " she said, shakily standing up.
The rooster was right, we're out of our league. It seems like they can stop anything we throw at them. How on earth are we supposed to defeat them??
