Chapter 11: Dark, Cold Night *

After that moment of tenderness and affection, we were soon heading outside to learn how to use these bad boys. However, Teguma looked like something was bothering him.

"A question, young Hanzo. " teguma said.

"Yeah? " hanzo replied.

"A while ago, I fought with a man who told me about rattan. Instead he called her rattan and referred her as a he. Was that just a grammar error on his part or something of the like? " he asked.

Hanzo stopped in his tracks. Madira looked at him and stopped as well, looking rather concerned. In fact, we all stopped as soon as he did.

"No... I wish it were just a grammar error on his part. " hanzo said.

"Hmm? " said teguma, crossing his arms.

"Rattan is a vile woman, she's of the Chu race. There was a great war called the Red Sun War. The Chuten and inarians were against each other. During said war, the inarian side unleashed a devastating weapon and wiped out Rattan's whole damn platoon, leaving her injured as well. Ever since then she hated, outright despised the inarian people. She unleashed a terrible virus onto the planet of Inari. Said was tasteless and scentless. Once the inarian was infected, they would slowly become unexplainably angry and furious until they turn feral and turn into a mindless monster. This caused inarianto turn on each other in a bloodbath of pure mindless rage. This was permanent, and they were dead.... "

"Like family against family?!" I asked.

"Family against family, friend against friend, you name it. Feral inarians are partially aware of their actions, but they're too angry to care....not only that, the virus keeps them from having any chance of being able to calm down by putting the host through unimaginable pain to fuel the rage.....like one's own blood is on fire...." He said looking down.

"So she did all of this and has yet to be caught?" said teguma.

"That is a good point, like, how did she protect her identity? When she released the viral outbreak, records state that she was wearing a filtration mask to cover her face, but the rest was exposed and everyone could identify her....but how can you apprehend someone when all hell is breaking loose and you, yourself are just trying to stay alive and escape with whoever is not infected? How can you and your men arrest someone when your own are against youand you'rejust tryingto evacuateas many as possible? Any witnesses would have been killed by their own kin's hands before word could even get out.....and the bitch was banking on that so confidently, she said to have stood on a building, just silently watching it all go down, probably with a twisted smug on her face!" he said, clenching his fist and silently crying.

Madira held and comforted him, soon Katsumi and Tamono broke down into tears.

"Jesus christ dude....." I said absolutely stunned.

"To attack the innocent in such a vile and cruel way..... It's unforgivable!" Said teguma, getting worked up.

The sailor scouts cried as well or shown visible disgust. Haruka looked furious on the point of crying herself. She seemed to be the jerk of the group, but I guess even something such as this would cause her to even crack.

Ami then shivered a bit and looked at her phone. She then gasped in shock.

"I'm sorry to break such a sad and tender moment, but the temperature.... It's.... It's dropping rather fast! It was in the nineties earlier, now it's in the upper fifties!" She said, showing the temperature, which said fifty-eight degrees Fahrenheit.

"Of course, the blocked out the sun... Eventually, it will snow, and we'll be in worse trouble.... " said hanzo as he dug in his satchel.

"If it snows.... It could cause outages..." Said Rei.

"No! We can't have an outage! San will definitely die! " said ami, panicking.

Everyone shot glances at one another, until hanzo started giving out key cards. They were black, shiny, and smooth rectangular cards that had a slight angle to them.

"They're on auto pilot as of now. I'll be with you as well as madira. There are manuals inside the cockpit in case if you want to try manual pilot. However, take note these are not automobiles or amusement rides. You can die if you crash, especially in space where there is no forgiveness...." Said hanzo in a stern, serious voice.

We all nodded in agreement and listened closely.

"Our missions are as follows, destroy the barrier. We gotta get the sun back ASAP. Infiltrate the captain's ship, take out the head, the rest will follow. Finally, ensure the people's safety on the ground. They may do an on foot invasion, best have people on the ground... " said hanzo, giving out paper, showing the missions and details.

"Now for the critical part, who will stay?" said madira.

"I have to, because it's my duty to take care of San! " said ami.

"I'm too young to drive...." Hikaru said with a shrug.

"I'm not leaving my son's side. " said tamono.

"I must stay with my family, I must rule in my mother's place until she's better. " said princess Usagi.

"I'll help keep the electrical from freezing. " said Rei.

"Seems like we have a solid ground force! Excellent, now to take to space.... Make sure you have everything in order. It'll be a long fight I'm sure.... " said Hanzo as he and his sister got the tanks prepped.

Everyone exchanged hugs and farewells as we all got ready to leave for the battle ahead. Usagi called her father and told him to deliver her response to Qrow. To tell him, that we're not rolling over and giving up....
