The channel on San's room TV cut to the news almost immediately when the sky went dark. The news reporter tried to remain calm.
"I apologize for interrupting your programming... In case you haven't took notice, the sun has been blocked all around the globe! What on earth is happening? We go live with our ground reporter, Hikari to you! " he says.
"Hey, that's one letter off from my name!" Hikaru said cheerfully.
It cuts to a news reporter outside.
"Hikari here, a hot summer day all of a sudden turns to night. Nobody has really looked into the cause behind it. It is all so stra-"
Her screen turns to static and we see the reporter from earlier, a bit weirded out.
"Ehhhhh Hikari? You OK down there? It seem we have some interference.... Ahhhh.... Hmmmm. "
It then flickered to life, except it cut to a bird-like person in a chair in a ship of sorts.
"Ahoy there earthlings, sorry to take yer sun away from ya, but I must hold ya gunpoint per say to force an offer you can't refuse onto you fine creatures! " it said.
"What the hell? " i said under my breath.
"I am Ludwig Von Qrow, captain of a large fleet of space pirate ships. We call ourselves the "star snatchers" in these sectors, but we go by many names. The important thing is now is the proposition I have for ye.... " Qrow said, pulling out a device that popped out into a holographic notebook of sorts.
"Holograms? We're not even that advanced yet..... " said Tamono in dismay.
"Forfeit all your precious metals, minerals, stone, and treasures you have to offer and that includes fuels such as oil and petrol, the like. We need the fuel especially for mining your local asteroids of star dust! If you co-operate, we'll remove the force field immediately after you give us what we need and want. Resist, we keep it back up! Simple as such! " he said chuckling.
"If sun is blocked, that means things will eventually freeze over! " said ami in a panicked tone.
"Now, I know you are all primitive in your own way so I'll keep it simple. No sun, no light or warmth! No warmth, means you will all slowly freeze into ice sculptures, then we just take what we want anyways!" He said laughing triumphantly.
"We must think of something fast, if things start freezing.... The electricity will start to go... " said teguma looking at San.
"Shit, that means San's life support will stop working!" I said, feeling dread creep in.
"We have a backup generator in case of that, but he's in a sensitive state!" Ami said.
"I can try to get the tribe to quickly make and attempt to insulate the wiring here and try to do something about the electrical towers.... But that'd take too long and it'd be far too late! " said tamono, letting out a canine whine, looking at San.
"I'll give you earthlings as much time as ye need.... Even when ice starts forming and you're shivering to death hahahahaha!! " Qrow said as the news returned. The newsman was bewildered to say the least.
"Iiiiiiiiiii uhhhhh uhm we'll cut to commercial! " he said
We stood there, shocked at what just happened. Serenity told us that there used to be invaders before, but they were time travelers and stuff mainly, not outright, full scale piracy invasion. Fleets, of pirate ship vessels?! We're sitting ducks without a space infantry, let alone ships! Soon, the people outside began to panic in the streets.
Rei calmly got up and called the queen on the hospital room phone.
A middle aged woman would enter the room. She looked like ami, but had curly, poofy hair instead of it being straight and combed down.
"Oh! Mother!" ami said, bowing.
"Ah, my dear ami. You have done oh so well! Your doctor's certificate is within your reach!"
"Aren't you freaking out about the space pirates and all? " I asked.
"I have already placed my full trust and faith in the royal family.....as well as my talented daughter." She said.
"Thank you, I will work very hard to keep him alive and well....... The other doctors though..... " ami said looking down.
"Oh don't you worry about those fools! They will not touch your patient at all! Not on my watch!" Ami's mother said.
"We haven't heard from the quee-" I said before rei cut in.
"She's still sick, but she said since we don't have the technology or fire power to fend off a fleet, she will start negotiations with the pirates from bed...." she said sitting down and slamming her fist down onto the arm rest in frustration.
"So.... All we can do is roll over and surrender...... Tch.... " said minako, looking out the window.
The outer senshi, who were Haruka, Setsuna, and Michiru, came through the door with flowers and cards.
"That won't fly, there has to be a way..... " said Setsuna.
"Like I'd surrender, pfft....oh... Hey bird boy.... " Haruka said to Teguma.
He simply nodded in her direction with a stern look. This would annoy her a bit.
"If they didn't have that barrier up, we could beckon them to the ground so we could fight and win. However, they're using coward, but clever tactics against us..... " Michiru said, setting down the flowers.
We all stood there, trying to brainstorm ideas. Then all of a sudden, some sort of portal opened outside in a bright flash of light. Out came two figures, one male, one female. The male was vule, with white fur. The other was a female with red hair. Things just got stranger.....
