Sleeping With The Light On (Part 1)

Charlie's P.O.V
It's 3am and I'm in one of Mac's big spare rooms staring at the ceiling. I can't get her off my brain. Her smile, her laugh, her beautiful eyes that light up like stars. Okay I'm getting really cheesy here but my god she's perfection. There's only two tiny little problems; she's my best friend's sister and she's one of my best mates. I can't destroy either of those relationships. They both mean so much to me.

I decide to get up out of bed throw a pair of sweat pants on and go to the kitchen. Maybe a cup of tea will help. I walk in the door and there she is. The women who has been haunting me for years. Mackenzie Bourne. Standing at the sink with the moonlight framing her silhouette. If only I could call her mine. If only I could hold her. If only. Who am I kidding? I don't deserve her.

Mackenzie's P.O.V

"Mackenzie." I jump slightly hearing someone call me from behind. I turn to see Charlie standing at the door. I can't make him out very well in the dark night but he's definitely shirtless and it's driving me nuts.
"Charlie? You scared me. What are you doing up?"
"I'm sorry darling. I didn't mean to scare you. And I couldn't sleep thought I'd make tea. What are you doing up?" " Same as you Charlie.
"Same as you. Couldn't sleep." I can't stop thinking about you as I lie in my bed. That's what I really wanted to tell him but I can't. I don't deserve anyone's love. I'm not worth it.
"Would you like a cup of tea to help relax you?" he asks in that deep throaty voice of his that would melt chocolate I swear. Oh no Charlie's looking at you like you have three heads. What did he ask again? Oh yeah. Tea. "Yes please".

After Charlie made us both a cup of tea we decided to grab blankets from the hall closet and go outside to the patio. Even though it's so late the stars were too beautiful to not go look at.
