Seungwoo knew that Subin would manage to sneak out of the palace again against his instructions, even with a few more guards out around the grounds than usual. He also knew that Sejun wouldn't have left the town, but then again, he never listened to what he was told anyway, not even by authoritative figures. Seungwoo could name at least three different instances when the assassin was scolded for going against rules just in their training days. It was inevitable that the two would run into each other again.

However, he would have liked to believe that Sejun wouldn't hurt Subin, he was innocent after all. And, if he had saved him before, why would he them hurt him?

"You're overthinking this whole situation." Byungchan entered his room, having been stood in the doorway observing the older for a few moments.

The royal guard turned his head. "I'm responsible for him. I can't have him running around the town with an assassin!" He turned his head back to face out the window once again.

Byungchan quietly made his way over to stand next to Seungwoo.

"My love, you are just as responsible for Subin as the rest of us. He is an adult, he will know if something is wrong."

The older sighed.

"I'm sorry. I feel as though I've been so fixated on Subin and that-"

"It's okay." He placed a gentle hand on his cheek, turning his head slowly to make him look at the younger. "You have nothing to apologise for."

Seungwoo closed his eyes and leaned into his touch.

A knock at the door startled both of them, Byungchan ripping his hand away from the older's face just at the door opened.

"Seungw- oh Prince Byungchan." He bowed quickly. "Seungwoo, Prince Subin has just arrived at the palace gate with someone else, and the person is demanding to speak to you."

Both Seungwoo and Byungchan shared a worried glance at each other.

"Thank you."

The other guard left as the two made their way to the gate as quickly as they could. There was nervous energy radiating off of both of them, as they knew the situation could potentially be volatile.

Just as Seungwoo had suspected the person with Subin was none other than Lim Sejun. He was stood holding the prince's hand, as the prince clung to his arm, refusing to let go even when he saw his brother and Seungwoo approaching them.

One of the guards stood at the gate turned towards Seungwoo, telling him the situation and what Sejun had said specifically, knowing that he was watching and listening to everything they said.

"Prince Subin was already like that when they arrived at the gate, neither of them would tell us why. That guy refused to do anything until someone got you to come down here. Do you know him?" The guard was definitely suspicious.

"Thank you, Seungyoun. You can leave it to me." The guard walked back to his post, giving them a glance every now and then.

"Subinnie, what happened?" Byungchan was trying to coax the younger prince off of Sejun's arm, but wasn't having much luck.
