Chapter 21

Sejun had gone back to Subin after he had cleared his head and told him about what had happened. He knew that the prince wouldn't tell anyone else about what had actually happened, because he knew that Seungwoo wouldn't have told Seungsik about it.

Despite Subin's uncaring attitude about people trying to kill him before, he actually seemed shocked at the fact that someone would actually try to enter the palace to get to him. He had made Sejun promise him that he wouldn't leave him alone, he was that shaken by it. So, like he had promised, they both stayed in the younger's room for the rest of the day, Sejun only leaving once to inform the others about what had happened and that Subin didn't want to leave his room, to which everyone agreed it was probably a good idea.

The prince had become a koala, clinging onto the assassin and refusing to let go, forcing the older to stay in the same position until one of his arms had gone numb.

"Subinnie!" He whined. "My arm's gone numb."

Subin just curled further into him, not wanting to move because he was comfortable.

"No!" He whined back. "Don't move!" He huffed when Sejun tried to move his arm from under the younger.

"Please! My arm feels like its going to fall off." Subin had finally had enough of his whining and rolled off his arm to lie directly on top of him.

"I'm not moving again." The prince warned, although it did not sound threatening in the slightest.

"Fine, princess."

If Subin hadn't already been half asleep he would have argued, but he was too tired and comfortable to care.

Seungyoun was worried about the whole situation.

He knew that if anything happened it would endanger many people within the palace, and he couldn't afford a slip up. He was concerned about Minhee too. He was barely even an adult and he was being sent to try and kill a fucking prince who wasn't much older than he was. It was a cruel world that they lived in.

Seungyoun saw Seungwoo strolling towards him.

"We need to put more guards out around the grounds, just in case." He spoke.

"We already have most people posted already, but I can check to see what else can be done." Seungyoun confirmed.

"Thank you." He nodded in appreciation.

"No problem. Just doing my job." The younger shrugged nonchalantly.

The older guard turned like he was going to walk away, but turned back to ask something else, something he seemed unsure of.

"Do you think Subin is safe with Sejun?" Seungyoun was shocked that he was asking, because as far as he knew, him and Sejun were close friends, and what's more was the fact that he would do anything for the youngest prince. That meant even allowing Sejun to basically become his 'personal guard'.

"Has he given you a reason to believe he's not?"

"Well, no. But I've just got a feelin-"

"If you trust Sejun you would let him make that decision and tell you what he thinks. Personally, I think he would do everything he can to protect Subin, but it's up to you."

Seungwoo seemed hesitant at first, but slowly nodded in agreement. "You're right. I trust Sejun."

"Besides, I'm not sure Subin would allow you to put him under more security. You know he hates it."

"I know. We also need as many out here as possible for the time's being." Seungwoo nodded, agreeing with himself before he left, leaving Seungyoun at his post by the gate. He had forgotten that Yohan was also posted there and had been for the whole conversation.

"You're lucky he hasn't figured anything out yet." Yohan spoke up, making the older snap his head towards him.

"I would be dead if he did."

"I am well aware of that." He lent against the railings of the large gate. "That was smart though, what you said. And I'm surprised he didn't figure anything out when Sejun said he knew Minhee."

"I just need him to do his job and get out of here. He needs to hurry the fuck up. He's putting a lot of lives on the line here."

Yohan nodded. He understood the whole situation, but he did still feel bad for everyone involved, each for different reasons, mainly because people would end up dead either way the whole thing went.

Since he had been posted on the gate at the same time as Seungyoun, and since they had the same times for their whole shift plan, he had noticed the older left quite frequently. So, naturally, he asked him about it. Yohan was surprised by what he found out, but because he didn't want to get involved with anything, nor was he the kind of person to drop someone in it, he didn't tell anyone about it. Not even Seungwoo, the person everyone went to with their concerns and worries. He had learnt over the years of being at the palace that nobody likes a snitch.

Yet, that's exactly what Seungyoun was.
