Sejun sighed as he looked at his boss in front of him.
"I can't do that."
"You don't have a choice." His boss clasped his fingers together, placing them on the desk in front of him. "If you fail to complete this mission, I will have to take actions against you."
Sejun looked up at the ceiling, composing himself from lashing out. He couldn't afford to do that, not in his current situation.
"You've been working towards this since you arrived here, isn't this what you wanted? He is one of the most precious assets to them, and if you get to him, we can get to the King. We can begin to bring the whole royal family down if we can get to him. Don't you understand?" Sejun's boss was getting frustrated with him.
"But he's innocent! He has nothing to do with what happened to my father. I only wanted to get revenge for my father, I don't want to take innocent lives."
"He isn't innocent, he's part of the royal fucking family, Lim Sejun!" His boss shouted, standing up so suddenly that his chair fell backwards and landed with a loud crash that made Sejun flinch.
"You have spent countless hours training for this, what the fuck has changed? I can easily give this mission to someone else, but I will have to dispose of you. I can't have useless fucks cluttering this place up." His boss strode towards his, stopping a mere few inches away from him.
"Do you want that?"
"No, sir."
"So you will take this mission and you will complete it. Failure to do so will result in your death, as well as his and many others."
"Yes, sir."
The boss walked back behind is desk and sat down after picking his chair back up.
"Sejun. You know I'm hard on you for a good reason." He leaned back in his chair. "You're one of my best men and I can't have you failing to meet that title. You've always been so sure about what you wanted to do, so why have you now decided that this kid is innocent? You hate the royal family."
Sejun sighed. He had told his boss about most of his past, how and why he ended up there, so he couldn't exactly lie to him.
"I went to the palace today."

Sejun had a good childhood, spending countless hours roaming around the forest outside the town, playing with the other children in make-believe games. His favourite was the game where he had to fight lots of bad people to save the kingdom - just like his father did. He had always looked up to his father, and all he wanted was to become a royal guard and make him proud.
He joined up and trained to be one, which was where he met Seungwoo, who quickly became his best friend. He was like the brother he never had, someone who he could relate to.
But once his father died, it made him realise that the kingdom, especially the royal family, wasn't anything like he had been taught growing up. It was a maze of lies and corruption which his father had supposedly fallen into. That was according to the King's court, who ruled he had been selling secrets to enemies, and he was sentenced by the King himself. He blamed the King for his father's death - how could he let one of his best men die like that? He was refused any kind of treatment and spent his last days in inhumane conditions.
From that day, Sejun vowed he would never end up like his father, and first and foremost he would avenge his father in any way he could. He quit his training as a royal guard and left his family and best friend behind in search of someone who would help him to get his revenge.
After wandering the neighbouring towns for a week, word soon spread between a certain group of people that he was there, and he was picked up by a man who took him to see his, now, boss. It turned out that the men knew his father, and took him in. He had actually worked with them at one point (but Sejun was adamant it wasn't what the King had said it was). He began training with them and soon started completing 'missions' for them - they said it was a way to pay them back for effectively saving his life. Sejun accepted it, knowing he would probably be killed otherwise.
He worked for years, training everyday to get to where he was now. He was content with how his life was going, and he had actually started to enjoy what he did. It became more than just a way for him to pay back his boss, but also a way to help out the the towns in the kingdom. The King certainly wasn't.
Sejun had been a wanted man ever since he had started the job, but he was smart. He used his knowledge of the King's men to his advantage, he knew how the royal guards worked and how to avoid them. He worked around them, often sending them on wild goose chases while he completed more missions. He was, however, also unpopular with more than a few people, considering his job often involved one of their loved ones. Although almost nobody had the nerve to report him, knowing what fate they would meet if they did.
He was waiting for the right time to complete his most challenging mission - to take down the King. He was going to get revenge for his father even if it killed him.
Lim Sejun became one of the best assassins the Mirror Kingdom had ever seen.
