Seungwoo entered the palace after Subin had run into him, determined to find out what had happened and why he was so upset. Considering that he was just with Seungsik and Chan, it had to be to do with one of them, and the guard had a good idea of who it was and why.
As he made his way to Seungsik's room he could see the door was open and he was pacing the room, seemingly distressed. Seungwoo knocked on the door after standing in the doorway unnoticed.
"What?" He looked over. "Oh, Seungwoo."
"What's going on? I just had Subin bump into me and run off into the grounds somewhere, but I thought he was with you."
"He was." That was enough for Seungwoo to figure out the two had had an argument.
"He told me what happened in the town." Seungsik began pacing again. "He also told me about the person who 'saved' him - an assassin! He says he wants to be friends with this assassin."
"What he said was true." Seungwoo wasn't sure where the conversation was going, but he didn't like the tone of his voice.
As if the eldest prince had had a moment of realisation, he turned towards Seungwoo and began walking towards him, pointing.
"This is your fault! You're the reason he went out into the town to begin with. You allowed him to leave, by himself, without anyone who could possibly protect him from the things that go on there-"
"He is an adult, he doesn't need babying." Seungwoo had made a mistake speaking up.
"He is a prince, Seungwoo! For Christ's sake! He very much does need someone with him."
"I let him go because he didn't want to be stuck in the palace without anyone to talk to. You should know what its like here for him, and you should know how he feels about this place!" The older knew he shouldn't speak like that to the eldest prince, but he couldn't help it.
"He could have been hurt, or even worse out there Seungwoo. You know that. And the fact that it was an assassin that he met there too. He wants to be friends with an assassin! Someone who kills people for a living-"
"He wouldn't hurt him."
"How do you know that? How do you know that he's not just befriending him because he is innocent and naive, and then he's going to kill him too! You don't know what he is planning."
"I know he wouldn't hurt him." Seungwoo repeated himself. He couldn't believe what was coming out of the prince's mouth.
"Well, rather than assuming things, maybe you should do your job properly and protect him." Seungsik pushed past Seungwoo with his shoulder and walked out the room, clearly irritated.
"If Sejun wanted to hurt him, he would have by now."
The prince stopped in his tracks, turning back to the guard.
"You think I'm the one assuming things, but I think it's actually the other way around. I know him, Seungsik. I grew up with him. I know what Sejun is like."
"Well, I think you need to keep him the fuck away from Subin."
Seungwoo clenched his jaw. "I can't do that."
