Night had fallen over the Mirror Kingdom, and everyone was asleep, well everyone apart from Sejun it seemed.

No matter how hard he tried he just couldn't sleep, despite the angel sleeping in his arms, which led him to spend five minutes removing his arm from underneath Subin. Nothing else mattered in that moment more than him not waking up the younger. Sejun managed to move from the bed and ended up opening the door to the small balcony and standing out on it.

Although it was only spring, the night air was surprisingly mild, the slight coolness of the breeze causing small goosebumps to prickle up his arms, and shiver running down his spine due to the difference in temperature to Subin's room. The balcony looked over the gardens at the back of the palace, and he could see the tree in the distance where they went in his first day in the palace, causing memories to wash over him.

The assassin sighed, resting his elbows on the stone railing of the balcony.

Everything was messed up.

He was in a place where almost everyone secretly (or not so secretly) hated him, he had fallen in love with a prince (out of all people), and even worse, he was going to have to leave at some point. And once he leaves there's no turning back. Everything just kept going back to his fucking job, the hardest one in his entire 'career', and he had genuinely considered not doing it. Yet, if he did that, it would endanger many more lives than that one person.

But he loved that person.

"Now would you like to know your new job?" His boss asked him, a sinister smile playing on his lips.

To say Sejun was worried was an understatement.

The fact that his boss had an informant in the palace who had been relaying information about his actions to him had him terrified for the lives of all those he was close to in the palace. And knowing how much of a sadistic bastard Sejun's boss was, he was going to make him suffer just as much as the person in his job.

"A little birdie told me that you're quite close to the precious young prince." Sejun felt like his heart had stopped. "Don't lie to me." His boss studied his face, looking for any kind of emotion that might be shown.

"I want you to kill him." Sejun took a sharp intake of breath.

"He's fucking innocent! He hates being a prince more than you hate the royal family!" It felt like he was pleading at that point, but there was no way he could harm his precious Subin. He had sworn to not hurt him in any way.

"You said the same thing when I gave you the first job!" His boss tried to keep his composure, but it was slowly cracking, revealing the sick asshole underneath.

"This is different!" Tears were welling up in Sejun's eyes in disbelief. "I was never that close with Prince Byungchan. Subin is different." He turned his back on the older male, not wanting him to see him cry.

"I wont change my mind. You have three days. If you fail to complete it, I'll send more and more people until all of them are fucking dead, and you better not underestimate me! You don't know the power I have over people." He clenched his jaw.

The assassin turned back to him.

"You can't do this." He spoke barely above a whisper.
