“Your what, Evans? What is April to you? C’mon, why don’t you explain it to us- to the both of us?”

“I thought they were rogues,” April muttered. “But they were sent by the Alpha to- to kill me- us?”

“What if Grayson dies- because of you?”
‘He’s different.’

“Continue this in real-life with the real, living Grayson. Get the hell out of your hormonal, teenage dream fantasy stage. He’s waiting.”
April's POV.
“You know, when there’s a bed placed before you, it’s only human logic to sleep on it rather than on the floor where anyone could open the door on your face- then that person will worry they actually knocked you out. And then they’ll attempt the kiss of life-“
April’s stomach stirred, not being able to cope with the idea of Grayson kissing her in real life- just like he had in her dream.
“But then you just went with the idea of head-butting me awake instead? I mean, I thought the kiss of life would’ve been an easier option…for the both of us-“ April began to drift into a ramble, finding her words tumbling out from her mouth without them meaning to. “I mean…if you had, I’m pretty sure neither of us would now have a massive bruise on our foreheads.”
OK, maybe April was exaggerating a tad. The pain was barely even noticeable now. She just needed to find an excuse, and it just seemed to be an eligible contender at the time.
Grayson sighed- almost in a breathless laugh, ruffling his already fluffy hair with his hand, “So, may I ask what you’re doing in here- out of all the rooms in the house you chose possibly the most obscure. Seriously, I thought I knew this place like the back of my hand until I just spent half an hour looking for you- only to receive a head-butt to the face the second I approach you.”
She chuckled, still rubbing the aching spot on her head. April hadn’t meant to head-butt him. He’d just been in the wrong place when she woke up. It happens.
“Yeah, well- I figured I should take a time out. Speaking of, is the bachelor okay? Honestly, I didn’t want to do anything- it was accidental-“
“Maxwell’s fine, April. Back to his normal self- which, I still haven’t decided whether it’s for the best or not. Besides, I’m pretty sure we all know that you hadn’t been in control. It’d explain the shift your eyes and all-“
“Wait,” April choked, holding her hand in the air to pause Grayson, “It happened again? My eyes, I mean.”
Grayson’s eyes narrowed, although his attempt at keeping the air light and not at all serious failed. “What? You can’t remember? Jesus, April, how hard did you hit your head?”
April thought for a moment. She couldn’t remember much. All she could recall was lashing out at Maxwell, in a playful manner, for something that he’d said. Then, before she knew it, he was lying on the floor gasping for breaths and she was being dragged away by Grayson.
When April didn’t answer, too lost in thought, Grayson continued.
“Well, we both assumed you’d lost control. Your eyes went black and you tightened your hold on Maxwell’s neck. It was kind of like the time with Jason actually. One moment you were fine- the next you were trying to kill him.”
