And yes, I’m saying we killed them…or, maybe- oh the chances of that happening are very slim but…’

Yet, in a way, Grayson was a gift to her- in his own way.

"Now that the Alpha is after both of us and a new group of Elusive Wolves have been turned, it should make for an interesting journey for you. Not only that- but the full moon set to happen in a few days-”
--Chapter 28--
‘Surprise! We may not have actually killed your Uncle!’
“What?” April choked, everything falling on top of her all over again. She felt her legs getting weaker as the seconds of silence enveloped her.
The effect of realisation was just as sudden as it always is. And the air left her lungs like a balloon being struck with a sharp needle. It made sense, of course. But, even when the thought had always loomed its treacherous shadow in the back of her mind since the night April committed those murderous crimes; she had always tried to banish those thoughts, knowing that they’d only worry her or bring the same pain which she now felt. April was really starting to understand the true definition of the world ‘inevitable’. She could only dispose of something for so long before it came right back round, hitting her with a stronger force than she could’ve ever imagined.
“You OK?” Grayson’s voice sounded distant to her as she dropped onto the couch, pulling her knees up to her chest. April’s vision tunnelled and blurred and she focused on the corner of the carpet a foot in front of her. Her head began to pound in the most agonising way, like the butt of a gun was being smacked into it constantly, with each time getting harder and rougher.
‘A pack is what we need, April. A pack of Elusive Wolves- our kind- which we feel safe around. They were my intentions from the very moment we stepped into that apartment. I didn’t kill them. We turned them. They’re like us now. And right now, they’re probably looking for us, looking for the wolf that turned them. Their Alpha. You. Us. Our survival is vital for what I've planned for our future.’
“No. N-No, n-no, g-gods-“
April thought things couldn’t possibly get worse until her old friend named Anxiety reared its ugly head. She’d thought she saw the end of it. That was until her breathing quickened and forehead began to sweat.
Grayson’s POV.
I can’t believe this. Can’t one thing go right for once?
‘This is all your fault. Why didn’t you think of the possible consequences before you snapped?’
Believe me, that was not what I’m like when I snap. You should know this.
‘It’s still your fault though.’
I know it is! And you’re not helping!
‘I think you’re just a terrible person. You have absolutely no experience when it comes to a girl’s emotions.’
Grayson couldn’t deny it. He lacked majorly in that department. Forget only girls' emotions. He was an amateur when it came to anyones feelings.
His mate was currently being hydrated by her own sweat which was forever building along her forehead and dripped down past her cheeks, accompanying the tears which leaked freely from April’s tear-ducts. Her skin had turned a deathly pale colour- worse than his tone, which was a pretty low standard for anyone to sink to. April’s breathing was almost as hectic and spastic as the tremors and shivers which wracked through her body.
