"you ready?" rumi turned to see taehyung pop his head through the door, she nodded at him, glancing back at the huge mirror in front of her, smoothing her black satin dress down, and nervously adjusting the rings and bracelets decorating her fingers and wrists.

it was officially the day of taehyung's big exhibition.

time flew through them faster than they could catch up, rumi hated that but she also loved spending every new day with him, she just wanted to grip onto every second they had together, as long as it stayed beautiful, as long as it stayed blooming, she would sit at her window and admire their love all day if she could.

taehyung was busy for many days that followed the exhibition and almost never had the time to meet up, rumi would go and meet him at his studio, make sure he is eating well, chastising him when he skipped a meal and putting him to bed sometimes. rumi was also busy, she had many new events to plan and she also decided to partner with the museum's management for taehyung's exhibition. she also worked her ass off, making sure that every single minute detail was perfect in the planning, she couldn't handle any mistakes happening that day. they would sometimes just fall asleep on each other at the end of an especially busy day because neither had the energy to take care of the other but that was also the time they appreciated, there was nothing better than to wake up tangled with the other.

"you made sure the invite got to your grandparents, right?" taehyung questioned, walking into the room while fixing the cuff links of his sleek black suit, and rumi had to admit, this was the most dashing she had seen him look since namjoon's birthday and she almost choked on her breath when she saw him try the suit on at the store. taehyung, to her, was the most beautiful man, utterly breathtaking and charming to a fault.

"yeah, they will probably come around 7" rumi explained, her grandparents were ecstatic to hear news of rumi having a boyfriend and almost immediately wanted to meet him and rumi thought the museum was the perfect setting for them to know each other properly, she could already feel her heart being full from the thought of the most important people in her life meeting each other.

"did you...invite your parents?" rumi asked hesitantly, touching up her mascara slightly, not knowing how exactly taehyung would react to it but she only received a simple nod from him before he looked away to gather any necessary things either of them would need.

"how do you feel about it?" she turned around to see him pause his movements for a second, and then shuffling back around the room, to in front of her.

"i don't have any expectations rumi, like you said, i did what i could. i'm still doing what i can, it is up to them now." taehyung softly muttered, his words both hurt and reassured rumi, she was happy that he knew that he was trying and that was enough, but it also hurt her that he didn't have any expectations for his own parents, she couldn't imagine how badly he had given up on the idea of them patching up.

"don't worry too much, yeah? today is your day, and even if they don't come, you will still have the boys, me, my grandparents who are apparently already in love with you, and all those important art people whose names i don't care about, that will be there for you" taehyung chuckled at her words, leaning in to kiss her forehead.

"i think your grandparents like me more than they like you" he mumbled against her forehead teasingly, pulling away to slightly pat her head and she pushed his hand away, huffing a breath out and aggressively reaching out for her lipstick to touch up once again.

"it was one phone call, i swear you're too charming for your own good, they didn't stop gushing about you for a full week." rumi complained while patting her lips to soften the edges of the bright red lipstick, taehyung looked at the mirror, taking in her dress which he bought for her from a french boutique and he felt the same giddy feeling take over his chest as he saw her fix her earrings, she looked classy, elegant, all the pretty adjectives in the world meant rumi to him now.
