"we're sorry but the museum is closed for today" rumi stepped forward only for taehyung to grasp her wrist and pull her back next to him.

"what are you doing here?" rumi looked at taehyung with furrowed eyebrows, he seemed to know them and the couple in front of her looked nervous, with weak smiles and folded hands in front of them, taehyung eyed them warily as he waited for their response. rumi tugged the sleeve of his jacket, trying to gain his attention, to find out what was going on but he didn't budge even a little bit, keeping his glare straight on the couple in front of them.

"taetae- "the woman started but taehyung quickly shook his head, holding his hand up and taking a step back from them, letting rumi's wrist go from his grip.

"you don't get to call me that after 5 years of ignoring my existence" he spat out in anger that rumi had never seen on him, and honestly, it was not the right time but she thought he looked hot when he was upset. she quickly shook her head from that thought, why the fuck was she thinking about that when taehyung obviously was very put off by whoever these people are?

"i'm sorry but who are you?" rumi asked them, placing a gentle hand on taehyung's back and rubbing it up and down, trying to get him to calm down. she tried to rake her mind, to try and figure out who these people are but she came up empty.

"w-we're his parents" the man stepped forward with a hand held out in front of him and rumi's heart caught in her throat, realization dawning on her.

of fucking course, of all the people in the world, it had to be his parents who had to end this day. his parents, who didn't even care if he was alive or not just because he decided to not do what they liked.

rumi gave taehyung's father a small, close-lipped smile in return and a nod, making him drop his hand in disappointment. she couldn't just forget all the pain taehyung went through because of them, and now looking at his dad, she felt dumb for not understanding earlier that they were his parents. taehyung looked so strikingly similar to his dad, same tall nose and high cheekbones with a light roundness to their cheeks, eyes which seemed to pierce into someone's soul, of course it was his dad.

"i'm going to ask you again, why you are even here? and who let you in? this place has been closed for an hour for fucks' sake." taehyung almost yelled, running his hand through his hair in frustration and turning away from them, leaving rumi with fiddling fingers as she nervously eyed the situation.

"taehyung please, we heard about how far you've come and we wanted to congratulate you- "his mom reached out to him and he only took a step further away from them.

"because i ended up doing more than what you thought i could?" taehyung muttered bitterly with eyes that felt like dark pools to rumi, unrecognizable, taehyung felt like a new person to rumi at the moment. his mom sighed and stepped back, taehyung's dad tapping her shoulder in a comforting way as they warily looked at their son.

"do you want me to be here while you talk things out or be in the back where you can get me when you're done?" rumi whispered to taehyung, the situation was suffocating her, the tension in the air felt like it was making her dizzy, she couldn't necessarily help him, and she couldn't keep ignoring the defeated stance his parents held.

"we're not going to talk anything out" taehyung said firmly, taking rumi's hand and grabbing his coat to try and leave before he heard his mom cry out his name behind him, making him stutter in his steps, his eyes closing in exasperation as they lined up with tears, and rumi gently tugged her hands out of his and stepped aside.

"yes, you are, don't be stubborn now, just hear them out, i'll be in the back if you need me" rumi even surprised herself with how she managed to stay calm, considering that she was pretty furious herself a few minutes, taehyung hesitantly nodded and walked back to his parents as rumi left to the rooms.
