"um, how now?" rumi asked, squinting her eyes suspiciously at aera who seemed like she couldn't stop smirking, like she knew something that rumi didn't and that look started to get on rumi's nerves.
"so, he clearly hasn't told you yet."
"tell me what? can you get to the point already?" rumi was starting to get impatient, taehyung would be here any minute, she can't imagine the mess that was waiting to happen if aera kept prolonging this and he would walk in to see the two of them talking.
"sweetie, taehyung is vante" aera mused, pushing strands of rumi's hair to the back of her ear and smiling delightfully, sending shivers down rumi's spine as she paused, in shock at the bombshell that aera dropped before she burst into hysterical laughter, tears gathering at her eyes.
"aw aera, you're quite a funny person. maybe if you weren't such a bitch, we could actually be friends" rumi said, still slightly breathless, not even trying to hide the pettiness in her tone and aera glared at her.
"i'm telling the truth" aera stubbornly continued and rumi shook her head.
"i don't believe you."
"what can i do to make you believe me?"
"actually, give me tangible proof, which i'm sure you don't have."
"i do, you just have to listen to me for the next 10 minutes without interrupting me" rumi rolled her eyes, but nodded, thinking that as soon as aera is done with whatever senseless shit she's stirred up, she'll leave her and taehyung alone.
"go on then, 10 minutes is all i give you" rumi sighed, mentally slapping herself for even accepting to hear aera out who seemed to be satisfied with the time she was given.
"i'll take it. first of all, do you really think he could afford that huge of an apartment while working at a flower shop which rarely has customers?"
"isn't that too harsh of a judgment, and besides, filter flowers do have regular customers" rumi defended.
i should know, i'm the regular customer.
but it did seem odd to her, while filter flowers didn't have a lack of customers, it definitely wasn't bustling with business, and to afford an apartment with a studio in a city like theirs where most cried about paying the rent alone, was slightly suspicious.
then rumi reminded herself that his financial situation was none of her business.
"wait, how do you even know about his apartment?" rumi asked suddenly and aera swallowed, looking away, a clear sign of guilt.
"you're so fucking creepy, you know that?" rumi immediately spat out, this was something she'd always wanted to say to aera, from when aera popped up in her office without notice or without prior information about rumi and now, she knew about taehyung's new apartment too. and rumi was sure that aera knew even more than she let on. aera scoffed at her accusation and pursed her lips, trying to find something to get out of this.
"i thought you weren't supposed to be talking when i explained" aera childishly whined, and rumi looked away, irritation eating her away.
"his financial situation doesn't concern you so what other bullshit are you going to tell me?"
"how about i just show you since you clearly don't believe me?" aera said, quickly whipping out her phone and furiously typing away on the screen and rumi tapped her foot in impatience as the agitated woman in front of her kept scrolling, eventually finding what she wanted and smiling broadly, sighing in relief.
