from the next morning, rumi woke up with a bounce in her step, never feeling so ecstatic, not only because they kissed (even though she was still definitely swooning over that) but also because taehyung and her resolved any and all issues that they had.
it still nagged her that he didn't ask her to be his girlfriend but for now, she was satisfied.
even with the thought at the back of her head, she ignored it and went to work with a happy smile beaming on her face.
"damn, wasn't it only yesterday that you walked in looking like a zombie?" her work friend, suzy teased rumi as soon as she stepped foot into her office and rumi just glared at her.
"i didn't look that horrid" rumi retorted, taking a seat and flipping through her work folder and suzy laughed.
"oh honey, how many mirrors did you avoid then?" suzy snarked, leaning on the door frame and rumi closed her work folder with a huff.
"can you go and annoy someone else, i've got ten events to go through" rumi pleaded and suzy raised her hands in surrender and left rumi alone.
it's been three months since that day, and suzy hasn't stopped teasing rumi about her grin right at the start of the day, every single day, she'd wake up to a sweet good morning from taehyung, she can't help the happiness that fills her to the brim whenever she sees that message, and she carried that positive energy into the day, and ends it with an equally sweet good night message, her and taehyung still only went to formal dates, both of them feeling reluctant to cross a dangerous line that would blur their stance.
but they were still content with whatever they were, both of them taking their own time to explore themselves and each other. they met up a few more times, just for casual coffee dates or she'd just drop in at his shop whenever she could, and he would entertain her with his vast knowledge about the flowers around them and she listened like a fascinated student, completely in love with how smart he looked when he would go off on a rant about how people have forgotten the beauty of simple flowers.
rumi felt significantly calmer and more organized, probably because her mind wasn't buzzing with a hundred questions every two seconds and she easily glided through her days, making several calls and confirming last-minute things, assuring her clients, and she felt proud of herself, she finally got back the productivity she lacked a few months ago.
she had peaceful lunches with suzy, as peaceful as it can get with the woman who apparently loved pushing rumi's buttons every chance she could get.
"hey rumi, you have a new client, should i send them in?" rumi looked away from her paperwork and distractedly nodded at suzy who mumbled an agreement and left.
rumi heard a soft rapping of knocks and she finally put away her bunches of paper to talk to her new client, though she was confused because she didn't remember confirming another client meeting.
"come in!" she invited them in and her head almost reset into a headache when she saw who it was.
park aera.
why does this girl show up everywhere?
aera walked in with a huge smile, decked out in a beautiful satin dress which almost made rumi self-conscious of her own outfit, rumi gulped when aera sat herself in front of her with a smug look on her face.
"um, how can i help you?" rumi hesitantly asked, scrambling to sit down too and aera ignored her question, looking around the office room in what rumi only assumed was disgust, rumi's fists clenched at the side of her body, already losing patience.
be professional. rumi reminded herself that this was still her workplace and she needed to remain calm even if aera tries to be a bitch, which she pretty much expected from the petty ex, rumi had an image to maintain and she wasn't going to let aera ruin that.
