"the fireworks are going to start, let's go."

"but isn't it the other way?" rumi asked, looking back at where everyone else were gathered and taehyung nodded.

"it is, but i know a place from where we can get a better view" taehyung glanced back at her with soft eyes that made her heart flutter just like every single time he was around her, and rumi let him take her wherever this special place was.

soon, they were on a higher ground, the fair at their feet and no one else around them, just the two of them, unwilling to let go of their intertwined hands as they waited for the show to start. a comfortable silence fell upon them.

the sky then lit up in multiple bright colors above them and, loud noises exploded beneath them, the pair let out gasps in wonder, their eyes widening at the sight, then they turned to each other with the same disbelief, one that screamed 'are you looking at this too?' sharing a large smile before turning back to admire the sky, their hands unconsciously holding the other tighter, which seemed to be happening a lot today, a sign of them saying 'hey, you're here with me and right now, everything seems perfect'.

"it's like every time i see these lights, they're brand new" taehyung murmurs just high enough for rumi to hear.

"i've never seen them before, i couldn't bring myself to but yeah, they're really pretty" rumi admits, with a slightly heavy heart but the same sparkly eyes, and taehyung turns to her with a frown.

"not now, let's just enjoy this right now, everything is so good" rumi interrupted him asking the question she knew she had to answer later, taehyung understood that she just wanted what this moment was giving them, peace; a real sense of peace.

just like the sky exploded into a million colors in front of them, it returned back to its midnight blue with stars that faded in and out of view, and the pair were currently sitting on some dry grass, still marveling about the show, both of them sharing the same childish excitement as they constantly replayed the events that took place not even 10 minutes before.

"how do you even know this place? it's got such a clear view of the fireworks" rumi asked, wondering how taehyung even knew this little hill at the back and taehyung had a fond smile on his face, his expression one of nostalgia.

"me and jimin used to come to the fair every year as kids with his grandpa."

"you've known jimin for that long?"

"oh yeah, i used to see him first thing in the morning, then for the entire day in school, he was the only kid that talked to me and welcomed me in a way, and then, we used to walk back home together too, couldn't get rid of him then, can't get rid of him now" he lightly chuckled at the countless memories he's shared with the smaller man, and rumi had a broad grin on her face too, hearing about their friendship made her feel really warm and happy too.

"explains why you're both so close" rumi said and taehyung hummed in response.

"he can be a pain in the ass but he's cute so he get's away with it" rumi laughed out loud at that.

"what about you and celeste? how'd you both meet each other?"

"it wasn't until high school that we met, we were in the same class and got our asses roasted by our teacher together, and i don't know, with celeste, it was like we already knew each other a long time ago, we got into so much trouble together which is why we're this close now" rumi just like taehyung, had flashes of their friendship, not all of them were great, but the ones that were great, were so precious.

"so, your partner-in-crime?"

"considering we almost did get arrested together, yes" taehyung snapped his head towards her, eyes wide and mouth agape.
