the following week, rumi got into work for namjoon's birthday, all the boys contributed their own ideas for the theme, food, and decoration. rumi came to know that their friend circle was as tight as a family, they often made fun of each other but there was no denying the immense love and respect present too.
she'd gotten to know a little bit more about taehyung too, through the many meetings that took place, the two had spent a good amount of time just ogling the other, she found out that he hates coffee, he loves dogs like literally would melt for a dog (which was very cute to her) he liked being alone sometimes and that he could go all day talking about his friends. she did notice that he never talked about his family, she wasn't overly eager to talk about her family either so she never brought it up.
they decided together that namjoon's 25th birthday would be as special as it could get, divided into two parts, a calm afternoon brunch and a wild night getting drunk to end his birthday with. the afternoon brunch would only be the seven of them with a cottage core theme, the menu was decided to have dishes with titles of his favorite books and milk teas would be served as drinks, just what namjoon likes. the night would be spent at one of the trending clubs in the area 'honsool' with all of their acquaintances, which included rumi and her plus one, who would obviously be celeste.

the reason why they were going all out for his birthday was that namjoon would soon leave to london for a 2-year contract job, he did say he would visit but how frequently was the question so they wanted to make the most out of the time they had with him.
rumi understood how precious this was to the boys, so she worked very closely with them and her team to make sure it was a success, taehyung was greatly pleased to see how dedicated and professional she was, sure they still spent time talking instead of working and the boys teased the duo a lot too, but overall, she received their vision perfectly and executed it very well.
she received the happy news that their afternoon brunch went exquisitely, that namjoon felt really touched with the attention to detail and conveyed his thanks to rumi, she of course shrugged it off because it was still her job, and taehyung informed her that he would pick her and celeste up for the evening which she agreed to.
rumi wanted to feel good and sexy today, because first, it's been a really long time since she's gone clubbing, almost 3 months now, with her hectic schedule, she just didn't find the time, and second, even though she wouldn't admit it out loud, she wanted to impress taehyung too, she's always dressed more or less in a pretty casual way when she was around him so she wanted to take him by surprise.
so along with celeste's approval, she wanted to wear her favourite, 'saved up for three months to buy it' dress.

celeste was a little hesitant to tag along, but with a bit of prying (more like begging) from rumi, she decided to get her ass up and out to have a fun night as well, she chose to wear one of her sexy dresses too, whatever she had with kim chaemin fizzled and they agreed to stay friends, which was why celeste was dressed to impress as well.
it was almost 9, the girls were done getting ready, looking and feeling really good, they both didn't stop making comments about how if anyone else doesn't work for them, they'll marry each other and kept taking silly photos to pass the time.
rumi squealed excitedly when her phone dinged to alert her of notification from taehyung.

celeste playfully rolled her eyes and muttered a 'so cheesy' which rumi responded to by elbowing her.
"ok, how do i look? be honest with me" rumi nervously bit her lip as turned back to see celeste right before leaving.
"you look like i would let you rail me" celeste simply said, slipping on her heels and double-checking her's and rumi's belongings while rumi let out a sigh of relief.
"thank you" she murmured before slipping out the door, celeste following her.
"for saying i would let you rail me? you're very welcome rumi" she cheekily commented, while locking the door which recieved another shove from rumi.
they saw a car pulled up front with taehyung leaning on it, scrolling on his phone, and the duo did a double-take at how sexy the car was, yes the car, it was a beast, the shade being a rich emerald green, like damn, rumi knew he was rich but didn't guess how rich.
noticing that the girls were here, taehyung looked up and sent them a bright smile, which had celeste swooning and rumi drooling, he was wearing a simple outfit actually, black shirt, well-fitted trousers of the same color, and gucci shoes but the way he looked so unreal with his hair swept back, it just sent rumi into a dazed kinda state.

and let's just say, rumi definitely surprised taehyung, poor boy felt so flustered when he saw her in that dress, his mouth felt dry when he saw her honey-like skin on display, he definitely would have a hard time tonight, emphasis on the 'hard', he composed himself and sent a bright smile which made rumi smile right back at him and he swore that his breathing got uneven for a second there.
as flustered and bashful as they were, rumi and taehyung did a good job at not showing anything, celeste noticed though, nudging rumi playfully while rumi tried to drag her to the car.
rumi and taehyung subtly (not very subtly) checked each other out which caused celeste to cough next to them, she was clearly very amused with the situation already.
"oh shit sorry, taehyung, this is park celeste and celeste, this is kim taehyung" rumi sputtered out, clearly embarrassed that she got called out on checking taehyung out, silenting cursing celeste out in her head.
"pleasure to meet you" taehyung extended his hand for celeste which she graciously shook with a smile on her face.
"it is nice to meet you too especially since rumi hasn-" rumi cut celeste off by slightly kicking her ankle, celeste smirked at her and taehyung watched the exchange with eyebrows darted upwards, completely amused.
"i think we should go" rumi said, hurrying forward and getting into the car, celeste and taehyung exchanged a playful look before they got into the car too.
not one of them knew how the night would actually turn out.
