taehyung knew that his message was rude, but he was getting desperate and rumi was not messaging back at all so he decided to use the one route he could.

rumi, on the other hand, was fuming at the message and had the urge to burn his shawl but decided to throw it on his face would be better and here she was, right in front of the elegant flower shop, she could see taehyung scribbling something on the counter, she rolled her eyes before entering.

taehyung immediately lifted his head at her arrival.

she looked significantly calmer but her eyes were still slightly narrowed and sharp, she walked with her shoulders back and chin high but he picked up on her nervous habit, her hand was slightly twitching at the side of her body. one of the perks of being around park jimin for so long, he had gotten pretty good at observing people too.

"hey ru-" he started as she reached the counter but her piercing gaze told him to keep his mouth shut.

rumi could be scary when she wanted to be.

she shoved the shawl onto the counter, the same shawl that he gave to her on their first date, and it hurt taehyung, a dull ache forming in his chest with his heartbeat naturally accelerating when he was around her. sure, he had told her to give it to him but that was just an excuse. and what hurt him even more was the blank look on her face, she looked like she did not care at all about what was happening.

but inside, it was killing her just like it was killing him.

"your shawl, i came to return it" she stated, tone dry and uninterested.

"that was just an excuse to meet you, you can keep it " taehyung mumbled, pushing the shawl closer to her and she pushed it right back to him with a scowl on her face.

"i don't want it" she sternly said, taking one last look at his face before making her way to the front of the shop. taehyung took a moment to register whatever happened just now before grabbing his coat and rushing out the door too. he realized if he gave her space, he might as well forget about her considering how angry she was with him.

he shrugged his coat on messily while looking left and right to catch a glimpse of her, he saw her at the end of the street and rushed over to catch her, he grabbed her wrist which caused her to turn around with a surprised look on her face which eventually became annoyed when she who it was.

"what do you want taehyung?" she was frustrated and her eyes showed it, taehyung loosened his grip around her wrist but kept it firm enough to make sure she did not leave.

"i want you to give me a chance to explain, to tell you what actually happened, please" he sounded out of breath and desperate, the 'please' especially sounded strained, rumi felt conflicted between removing her wrist from his hands, to turn and walk away and hear him out.

she then remembered what celeste had told her, 'if he sounds desperate enough, listen to what he has to say', she also said 'don't be an idiot' but rumi decided to ignore that part, celeste wasn't overly impressed with taehyung at the moment but she believed he deserved to say his side, whether to believe him or not was up to rumi.

rumi glanced anywhere but at his face, trying to decide, taehyung was only looking at her, internally pleading her to stay and listen. then she let out a loud sigh with a low 'fuck it' before darting her eyes to his face.

"not here" she mumbled, walking towards the flower shop again, taehyung followed her quietly, the awkward silence hanging in the air did not escape either of their attention but taehyung was just glad that she stayed. on pushing the door open to the flower shop again, she didn't even look back to see if he was following, she made her way to the counter and plopped down on the seat in front of it, resting her hands on the counter, and playing with the rings that adorned her fingers. taehyung sat opposite to her, heart hammering in his chest as he tried to find the right words to say.
