Chapter 40

The office is filled with soft chattering and clicking since the employees are busy with their jobs. Some are busy typing and filling their documents, and some are occupied with other employees to talk about their work.

Those brisk moments in the office were shut by Y/N's arrival in the room. Everyone went silent as he took his steps to his desk.

"Hello?" Y/N greeted.

"Sir! You're back!" One of the female employees spoke as she covers her mouth in surprise. Everyone cheered in excitement.

"Yes. I hope everyone was doing well during my absence." He scans through the room to observe his employees' faces.

Y/N looked over a specific desk, owned by Hyungwon who he gave the responsibility for over his missing period. Hyungwon noticed Y/N is looking at him, he approached his boss with a grateful expression.

"How are you, Hyungwon ssi?" Y/N asked.

"I can't describe how much I wanted you to come back, sir. The work, they have been pressuring me so much when you were gone." Hyungwon lowered his head in shame.

"It's okay, Hyungwon ssi. You did well." He tapped Hyungwon's shoulder.

"I heard about the good deeds you did when I was away."

"Thank you, sir."

"I'm here now. I will be responsible for everything from now on." Y/N assured.

"Everyone." Y/N gathered the employees' attention.

"I will make a formal announcement here that I am officially back into the office." The room fell into cheers as they have been waiting for his return.

"And on top of that, I apologize for my sudden absence." He bowed in front of the eyes of many.

"I have been a terrible boss, leaving my employees with heavy responsibilities. If any of them were too much to handle, I will ensure to bring you guys back on track. As for how a real boss would."

"It's okay, sir!" One of the employees shouted.

"Yes, sir. We are happy that you are back."

"And also, I'll be moving out to my real office. It's been very empty right there since I decided to have my seat here. If you miss me, don't worry. I'll be right next to you guys."

"Alright, sir."

Y/N smiled as he saw his employees are delighted to see his return. Seonghyeon at his side is no different than the others. He, too, has been waiting for him.

"Welcome back, sir." Seonghyeon welcomed.

"Thanks, Seonghyeon-ah."

The clock strikes 8 pm, signifying that work time is over. Y/N prepares himself to exit the office. He's the only one in the office so he turns off the lights and fans.

He goes to the basement and entered his car to drive off back home. After about15 minutes on the road, Y/N arrives home and meets Yena who was about to walk upstairs. Yena gave a smile to him and was about to leave.

"Yena-ya."

"Yes sir?"

"Can we talk for a bit?"

"Sure sir."

They both went out of the house and have a seat on a garden swing. The atmosphere went quiet for a while. Y/N was hesitant to initiate the conversation but Yena starts it.
