Chapter 47

The next day, Y/N wakes up early and prepares himself to go to the office. He goes downstairs and sees Yena preparing breakfast with the maid.

"Morning, Yena-ya."

"Morning, sir. Have a seat." Y/N's eyes widened as he sees a delicious breakfast served on the table.

"Wow, you woke up so early to prepare this?"

"I had always woke up early to prepare breakfast."

"Really? Ah, right. Yeah, you always did, aren't you?" Y/N said in an awkward tone. Yena perfectly placed the cutleries and puts on the napkin on Y/N's lap.

"Thanks, Yena-ya."

"You're welcome, sir."

Just then, an enthusiastic voice could be heard coming from the living room.

"Good morning!" Chairman Cha approaches the dining table alongside his wife.

"Morning, father. You sound so cheerful today. I assume you'll be having a good day. Morning too mother."

"Yes, of course. It's someone's birthday today." Without giving much thought, Y/N remembered that it's his birthday today.

"Omo! Happy birthday, father!"

"But we'll just be having a party for people in this house only. I don't like inviting other people and setting up this and that. Just celebrate it within us only."

"Alright, father."

"Wow, who prepared this breakfast?" asked as he fell astonished by the excellent morning supper.

"Yena and Mrs. Jung." Y/N's hand gestured to the mentioned two and then takes a bite of his breakfast.

"Ever since you live in this house, you've done so many things in here. Not only did you help to cook, but you helped with the laundry too. On top of that, even doing your office work while cleaning the house. I'm so thankful for that but you shouldn't always do that Yena-ya. It makes me worry."

"It's alright Mrs. Shin. It's what I'm able to do."

"If you continue on like this, you're about to steal Mrs. Jung's position. You're really a wife material, Yena-ya." Mrs. Shin jokingly said, which made them chuckle.

Well, except Y/N, who choked on his toast and quickly drank his water.

"Are you alright, Y/N?" His mother looked in worry.

"I'm alright, I'm alright. Yah, what a great joke mother, hahaha. If she's really a wife material, then why doesn't she try to babysit a kid too? It would help with future experience, right? Hahaha. Haha. Ha." Y/N stuffed the toast inside his mouth and gulped down his water before heading upstairs.

"Is he not on his right mind? I'm becoming so worried about him. Is it because of him overworked too much?" Yena giggled after seeing Y/N's actions.

"He probably is sick, sir." "Just give him some medications."

"Alright, sir." Yena nods.

After the breakfast is over, Chairman Cha left for work earlier than Y/N and Yena. They both get in the same car to go to the company.

The ride is quiet but it's less awkward. Y/N turns on the music to lessen the awkwardness between them to a comfortable level. Once he felt the mood is right, he initiated a conversation.

"I never knew you know how to cook."

"I learned the skill during my experience in a restaurant as a waiter. There was one day that the cook didn't come and I had to cook instead. Luckily, the customers on that day weren't that many."
