In the car, on their way to Minju's house, Y/N and Minju are preparing themselves for a mouthful from Minju's parents as they are going to inform about canceling the marriage.
Minju grabs Y/N's free hand while he focuses his vision on the road.
"Do you think we'll be alright?"
"Are you scared?" Y/N asked.
"I think they will be mad."
"They have all the right to be." Minju looked down as she let go of his hand.
Not long after, they reached the front of Minju's house. They informed her parents about the meeting beforehand, so they are sure her parents should be waiting.
Y/N led the way for Minju, and he knocked on the door then waited for someone to open it. They didn't quite expect it, but it was Minju's father who opened the door personally as if he has been waiting behind the door this whole time.
"Hello, Mr. Kim." Y/N greeted.
"Hello, dad." Minju waved from behind after Y/N.
"Come, come. Come in we have been waiting for you two." Minju's father excitedly invited the two to step in. Little did he know that they are here not to give him the best news.
They then arrived in the living room. Y/N gestured to let Minju and her father sit first, then he followed after.
The atmosphere then turns a little tense, even though nothing happened just yet. The way Minju and Y/N are stealing glances at each other raised some suspicions for her parents.
"Uhh, Minju-ya, Y/N, is there something wrong?" Minju's mother asked to break the ice.
"Yes, Mrs. Kim." Y/N sits upright. He takes a deep breath before saying it.
"We are here... to announce that we will cancel our wedding."
Mr. Kim's eyes widened as he heard the unfortunate news, while Minju's mother covers her mouth in shock.
"Are you serious?" Mr. Kim raised his tone.
"Yes, dad..." Minju replied, firm with her tone.
"B-But why?" Minju's mother looked very confused.
On her side, Minju's father's face is burning fiercely while he waits for their reasons.
"We have lost the spark, and that we are now in love with someone else." Y/N answered sincerely while stressing his tone in a way her parents could accept.
"That's right dad." Minju added.
"I too am in love with someone else."
Their words are hard to swallow by the older couple. While they are out of words, their facial expression shows something of a refusal.
"We are sorry, dad." Minju apologized while taking one of her father's hands.
"But we are no longer a match."
"You two-" Minju's father fell back on his seat as he tries to sort things out inside his head.
After a brief moment of silence, Mr. Kim finally composed himself and is ready to talk again.
