Chapter 43

It's another busy day in a place full of passionate and hardworking employees at CIPher Company.

In a busy and hectic company, Y/N and his team work hard as they will be launching their new product next month.

They worked nonstop without rest until lunch break. All of them went out for lunch except Y/N and Yena. Yena tries to find a document relating to the statistics of the product but she couldn't seem to find it.

She looks at Y/N's desk and tries to search it there. As she's finding the document, she opened a drawer that contained things that she remembered.

There were various kinds of stuff inside the drawer that recalled her memories of the past. She didn't expect Y/N would keep these things.

She grabs a picture of him and Y/N. The only picture of them while they were somewhat together. Then, she grabs a piece of paper and reads the content in it. It was a love letter that he wanted to give to Yena.

But out of all the things she saw in the drawer, there's one thing that stood out the most. She grabs a silver bracelet with fake gemstones. She recalled a bitter memory of him with the bracelet.

"Y/N..."

On the other hand, Y/N was stretching his hands and arms. He looked around and saw a ponytail near his desk.

Out of curiosity, he exits his office and goes towards Yena who was looking at the bracelet that was meant for her.

"Choi Yena. What are you doing?" Yena was startled upon hearing his voice.

"S-Sir."

"What were you doing? Were you searching my desk?"

"I-I was trying to find a document about the statistics of our product."

"Then you should've asked me. Don't search it on your own."

"I'm sorry sir."

"Put it back." Yena returns the bracelet to its place and closes the drawer.

"I'm sorry sir."

"For what?"

"For ignoring you and not accepting that bracelet."

At that moment, a door was slightly opened inside Y/N's heart. The tone of regret and guilt in her voice made him feel so bad for her. However, Y/N composed himself and closed the door shut.

"So? Do you think it will fix back things?" She shakes her head.

"I know it won't but I hope I could be forgiven."

Y/N looks at her with compassionate eyes. Yena knows that it won't fix Y/N's love for her like back then but she wishes that her mistakes will be forgiven.

"But sir, talking about bracelet reminded me of something."

"What?"

"When I was little I gave away my precious bracelet to someone. Sigh... I wonder if he's alright now."

"Bracelet?"

"Yes. It was a duck bracelet. I used to have a black bracelet with a cute little duck figure in it. Well, I gave it to a little boy. I pitied him. He really looked poor and my heart tells me to help him."

Her words made Y/N's suspicion appear in a trice. He recalled back the memory of his childhood about a bracelet.

'Don't tell me...'

Y/N was about to ask a question to Yena when his workers all came in after lunch break.

"Oh, you guys are back from lunch!" Yena said.
