Chapter 44

Y/N is currently sitting alone in the company's cafeteria while eating some Krispy Kreme donuts. Seonghyeon who was nearby at the moment noticed Y/N and joins him.

"Hello, sir."

"Hey, Seonghyeon-ah. Where's Minju?"

"She's at her office. I bought her lunch to eat with her later. You should join us, sir."

"Just call me hyung. We're not in the office."

"Alright hyung."

"It's fine, Seonghyeon-ah. I enjoyed eating by myself. So that no one could have my food. This whole box is all mine."

"Well, that's true."

"And I shouldn't interrupt you both. The sugar in the donut will become more sugary seeing you two. I can't get diabetes." They both chuckled hearing his joke.

"Thank you hyung. For letting me love Minju."

"It's alright. But it took so much strength to let go than to hold on."

"Is it the same with Yena noona back then hyung?" Y/N nods.

"Yes. But the hatred made it a bit easier to let her go and forget her." Y/N lets out a bitter smile.

"There's this one particular day, that made my hatred appear. Rethinking about it, saddened and angered my heart." There was silence for a few minutes before Y/N speaks again.

"Anyways, you should go to Minju now. You guys should eat lunch."

"Alright hyung. Enjoy your donut."

"Ah, by the way, take these as dessert." Y/N gives the box to Seonghyeon.

"Thanks, hyung."

Seonghyeon leaves him and Y/N looks out the window of the cafeteria. He recollects a bitter memory of the past which made him hate Yena for the first time.

Flashback

Y/N is wandering around his room while contemplating whether he should call Yena or not.

After a while of thinking, he decided to call her to ask her out for a date. With nervousness and excitement, he waits for her to pick it up.

"Hello?" A lazy tone could be heard from the other side.

"Hello, Yena-ya!" Yena let out a sigh upon hearing his voice.

"What do you want?"

"Can we go out for a date?"

"I don't want to. I'm lazy."

"Aww please~ I will buy you everything you want to buy. I have a lot of money today."

"Really?" After Y/N mentioned money, Yena's tone becomes bright.

"When?"

"Later at 4. You're gonna go, right?"

"Of course! Wait for me. I'll prepare myself in about an hour."

"Sure. Take as much time as you want. I'll be waiting." He hangs up with a happy and exciting feeling.
