"Love, stay close."
Newt told you constantly. You couldn't move an inch ahead or behind without him telling you to stay close. You thought it was cute how much he cared about you, but you just wanted to look around. It was your first time in the maze. You guys were finally going to get out. Newt grasped your hand, a little too tightly. You squeezed his hand back, and he finally looked at you and smiled. He was so distracted trying to keep everyone in order. You stared into his warm brown eyes, and he stared into yours. Slowly, he began to lean in. "GUYS!" Minho yelled. "Now's not the time to swallow each others faces!" You and Newt looked away, blushing. When the Gladers finally found the griever hole, you all ran, considering there were five grievers chasing you. You suddenly slipped on Griever slime, causing you to hit your head. Newt looked back alarmed, realizing you were no longer holding his hand. He ran up to you and picked you up, bridal style. You were unconscious. "Love please stay with me.." Newt mumbled over and over again. "Thomas!" he cried, "please help me carry her, I-I can't do it." Newt's voice broke as he stared at his bad leg. Thomas swooped you into his arms and ran towards the hole, looking back to make sure Newt was close. Once they ran into the griever hole, it was dark. When he could finally see, Newt took you back in his arms. "Where's Clint?!" He shouted. Clint came over and examined you. "Newt.." He started. "S-she may be brain dead." Clint mumbled, breaking eye contact. "She can't be!" Newt cried. He squeezed you in his arms and kissed your lips. "Please don't bloody leave me. Please, please, please..I can't go on without you. Please Y/N, please."

Newt repeated. Suddenly you woke up. "N-newt?" "Y/N!" Newt yelled, drowning you in kisses and I love yous. "Are you ok? Does your head hurt? Can you stand up? We have to get going! We're almost bloody out of here love." Newt said with tear filled eyes and a wide smile on his face. "Everything's going to get better now." You smiled. "I hope," he said. "As long as you're here with me, everything's going to be fine." He connected his lips with yours one last time, before all exited the Griever hole.
