Newt AU- Ice Cream

When you were driving to your favorite ice cream shop, you couldn't help but notice Newt constantly looking over at you.

"Newt, why do you keep looking at me! Drive!" You demanded jokingly, "I am, I am! Just quit distracting me!" He teased quickly pecking your lips, then gazed back at the road.

Now it was your turn to stare.

You watched as his face scrunched in concentration, his hair slowly falling towards his eyes. The car stopped for a brief second, stopping at a light.

"Y/N! Quit bloody starin at me!" A blush crept into his cheeks as he but his lip. (UGH😍) You giggled slightly and fixed your eyes out the window.

You admired the breath-taking blue sky and the fluffy white clouds. The birds soared with such grace and the trees swayed with the slightest bit of wind.

There was nothing like that back at the glade.

Newt noticed what you were staring at and rolled the windows down. "It's much better without the bloody dark window tint." He declared. He joined you and stared out the window as well. "Beautiful, yeah?" "Mhmm." You hummed.

When Newt finally parked at the ice-cream shop, he fixed his gaze upon you. "Wanna go through the drive thru or inside?"

"Hmm, inside real quick, then can we go to the mall?!" He groaned jokingly. "Whatever you want love." He got out of the car and opened your door, holding out his hand and kissing your cheek as you hopped out.

His fingers intertwined with yours and he opened the door to the ice-cream shop. "Ladies first." He said over-dramatically and took a bow, which made you giggle.

"What are you going to order?" You asked, looking up at the menu.
"Umm, don't know, you choose." "Wanna share something?"
"Sure. What do you want?" "Umm, I'll get the superman ice-cream on a cone."
"Our favorite!" He snickered. "Make sure they give us big scoops!" You giggled.

"Uh, we'll order the superman ice cream flavor thing on a cone. Oh, and make those scoops bigger than usual."

The man sighed, obviously hating his job, and scooped up gigantic scoops of the colorful ice-cream. He placed it on top of a waffle cone, then handed it to you while Newt paid for it.

You licked the colorful deliciousness, savoring the moment and taste. You wondered if there could possibly be anything better than this.

You guys started walking towards the mall since it wasn't too far.

"Is it good?" Newt asked, leaning in to get a lick, but then you purposely smashed it into his face; the colorful goodness now smeared all over his mouth.

"Hey!" He yelled, trying to wipe it off. "We should've asked for napkins." He mumbled, slightly giggling annoyed.

"Here, let me help you with that."
You leaned in and kissed all of the ice-cream away, while he rolled his eyes and laughed. (THE NOTEBOOK REFERENCE HEH)

He wiped the remains on you and started laughing even harder. "Hey! It's all sticky!" You groaned, "Now you know how I feel!" He laughed, grabbing the ice-cream and eating the remains of it.
