You were the newest greenie, about a week old. You were surprised because all the Gladers were so nice to you, except for one, Gally.

You had no idea what he had against you, but you tried to put up a strong act, because as the first girl, you wanted to prove that girls were just as strong as guys.

"Ew it's Y/N," Gally snickered, "Go do something with your face, you mistake."

(Literally if anyone calls you a mistake let me know and I'll cut them for you, none of you guys are mistakes you're all amazing and beautiful and worth it okay?)

Tears welled your eyes.
"Why don't you go do something with your eyebrows?" You retorted, then ran off to the deadheads; you couldn't keep the feelings in anymore.

You started sobbing softly with your back rested on the cold concrete wall.

I am a mistake, and I'll never be anything more. Nobody here needs me, I'm just a bother, a piece of trash, a waste of space.

The horrible thoughts made you cry harder, you couldn't bare it any longer. You looked around to find something to take the pain away, but instead you found Newt.

"Hey love, a-are you okay?"
He stuttered, sympathy lacing his British voice.
You wiped your tears away. "Yeah, I'm okay." He sat down by your side, your shoulders barely touching.
"Love, you don't have to lie to me, what's the matter?"
"I-I'm a mistake." Newt positioned himself so that he was in front of you, face to face. "Don't you bloody say that! That's not true! Who bloody told you that?" "Yes it is Newt! I'm just a worthless mistake, Gally said it, and it's true! I have no purpose here, nobody here needs me!" You lamented, sobbing again. You saw Newt's eyes watering, but you buried your face in his chest.

He tensed up surprised, you had never made such close contact, but he hugged back. Awkwardly at first, then lovingly. He gently pushed you off of him and cupped his hand around your face, moving away the straggled pieces of hair and wiping your tears with the other hand.

"Y/N, you are not a bloody mistake, never say that, or even believe it. Gally's a bloody shuckface, he doesn't know anything. You are here for a reason, you aren't bloody useless, you're gonna help us bloody find a way out. A-and, you make me happy. Bloody shuck, I guess what I'm trying to say is uh,"

He stuttered,

"I bloody love you."

Your heart melted, you had thought of Newt that way since you first laid eyes on him.

"I love you too." You whispered, and he closed the gap between your lips. ❤️
