Chapter Sixteen

(Tan's POV)

I left for work. I know, I promised Lauren to spend time with her. Pero end of the month ngayon. Masyadong busy sa cafe. Hindi naman kakayanin ni Jake na mag-isang gawin lahat 'to.

Pero nangako naman akong magle-leave ng ilang araw at dadalhin ko sya sa Batangas.

6AM palang, nasa cafe na ako. Maaga ako kumpara sa 8am na normal kong pasok. Gusto ko rin kasing maagang makauwi para ipagluto pa si Lauren. Dammit! I'm acting like a good husband here. And it feels so freakin' good! This is unbelievable. And I am unbelievably happy about this.

"Pare, ang aga mo. Alam mo ba yun?" Jake was teasing me. I smiled at him. "Yan, yang ngiting yan, kahapon ko pa yan nakikita. Mukhang masaya ka yata, ah. Kelan ko ba makikilala yan si Lauren mo?"

"Soon." matipid na sagot ko sa kanya.

So we did the inventory on all the products and items we have left inside the stock room. I noticed that there are few boxes of coffee bean that's missing. And it's stressing me out!

"Jake?! Jake! Halika dito!" I called Jake to ask him about the missing boxes. He probably know something about it.

I noticed Jake running towards my office. He's holding a newspaper.

"Tawag moko, pre?" tanong nya habang nilalapag yung newspaper sa desk ko.

"Jake, may missing tayong ilang boxes ng coffee bean. Alam mo ba kung saan napunta 'to? Chineck ko yung inventory sheet at yung boxes sa stock room, hindi nagtatally." Sobrang stressed out ako sa missing boxes na 'to. Hindi pwedeng mawalan ngayon yung cafe. We can't afford to lose some stocks. Next week pa ang dating ng delivery van.

"I-double check ko lang. Ako na bahala dyan. Mag-relax ka muna at ienjoy ang lovelife mo. Gusto mo ng kape? Ipagtitimpla muna kita dahil kanina ka pa nagtatrabaho dyan. Magbasa ka muna ng dyaryo dyan." umalis na sya iniwan sakin yung dyaryong hawak nya.

Sabagay, ang aga-aga pagod agad ako. Pano ko pa ipagluluto ng masarap na dinner mamaya yung mahal ko kung pagod na ako? Just thinking about the word 'mahal' makes me smile from ear to ear.

I actually don't know how long this happiness would last when I don't even want to put it to end.

Binuklat ko yung newspaper na nasa desk ko. Tss. Puro balitang patayan, pulitiko at kung anu-ano pang makakadagdag sa stress ko. Wag nalang. Binuksan ko yung page ng stock market. Hmmp...maraming stocks ang nagtaas, marami din ang bumaba. Napaka-unpredictable talaga ng stocks dito sa Pilipinas. But it's a good thing na tumataas yung stocks ng mga kompanyang nabilhan ko ng shares.

I flip another page of the newspaper and went to the entertainment page.

"Dude, eto na kape mo. Eto pa pancake, para mafeel mo naman yung almusal mo, okay?"

"Thanks." nginitian ko si Jake.

"Balik na ako sa stock room. Kailangan ko pang i-review yung mga supplies natin." nag-nod lang ako. Lumabas na si Jake ng office ko. Kaya bumalik din ako sa pagbabasa ng dyaryo.

BILLY VILLARAZA WITH HIS MISTERY GIRL

Tss. Chismis. But I read it as I found it interesting. Well, the article was talking about the actor, Billy Villaraza's break up with long term girlfriend, Megan Solis. And it's because of a business tycoon's grandaughter, who was caught kissing Billy Villaraza in a cafe yesterday.

Mga artista talaga, papalit palit ng girlfriend. I will never do that to Lauren. Tss.

(Lauren's POV)

"What the hell?!!!!" I read thru the article on the newspaper delivered on our doorstep. And it shocked me when I saw Billy Villaraza's picture...and that was me. He was kissing me. And the article is so not true! Nagkabalikan?! Sinong nagkabalikan?!
