tw; drug use
he stared at the pills in the small bag. were they supposed to male him feel something? his body felt so numb after the countless beatings, the cuts and bruises that covered him becoming a permanent stamp on his skin. he couldn't even look at himself in the mirror anymore.
he was ignoring his phone now, the countless messages he was receiving from his boyfriend were enough to drive him mad, the constant dings sounding off like a ticking time bomb before he lost his sanity.
he poured the pills from the bag in a small pot, crushing them into a white powder before laying it out on the bathroom countertop. he'd done it a million times before that the whole process became natural to him. he took a deep breath, doing line after line, and allowing for them to sink in. he didn't know why he did it. he just wanted to feel something. something other than pain.
the four of them sat around their table silently, waiting for the final member of their group to show up. mina and ryujin found themselves talking about random things, whilst minho and felix were completely silent, not daring to look at each other. felix was surprised that he had even decided to show up, especially after what had happened the night before.
"look guys, can one of you text hyunjin? ask him where he's at, i've got places to be," ryujin said in a slightly annoyed tone, not wanting to be late to her arrangements for the day. the two males looked at each other, but looked away again, both pulling their phones from their pockets simultaneously.
felix texted a short and sweet "hyunjin, you coming to class?" deciding that he didn't want to engage in much more conversation than that. minho however wrote out a small paragraph in which he apologised about every other word. he had no idea what had come over him the day before, but he didn't want it to affect hyunjin's coursework.
the male finally appeared, minho standing up hopefully as he smiled a little at him, but hyunjin didn't return the smile. instead, he just walked up to the table and sighed. "i have a practice room booked, i thought we were meeting there," he said lowly, the two girls gulping before standing up.
"yeah okay, let's go now," mina said ushering the other boys up and out of the room. they all walked down the hall silently. they entered the room one by one, placing their bags down by the mirrored wall before they all reconvened in the centre of the room.
"so, who's first?" ryujin spoke up, but the room stayed silent. she sighed and turned around to her bag, pulling a speaker out and plugging her phone into it. "i guess i'll go first," she said under her breath, scrolling through her phone to find the song she wanted.
she stood up and walked to the middle of the room, the prechorus of the song playing through the room. "this is a song that a friend of mine in composition made with our friends. it's about being yourself and not changing to please other people." when it came to the chorus, she began dancing, hitting the beats with sharp yet relaxed moves.
as she danced, ryujin kept a smile on her
face, her enthusiasm shining through every move and every beat. the song hit the bridge, and she didn't miss a single beat, so engrossed in the song that she forgot that she was even being watched. the girl felt such a thrill whenever she danced, the adrenaline coursing through her as she continued. the song came to an end and she finished, slightly panting as she walked over to stop her phone from playing the song again.her audience clapped for her. "wow, your friend is pretty amazing," mina complimented, patting her group mate on the back as she sat down, earning a small thank you while she took a drink of water. mina then looked over at the boys. "felix why don't you go next?" she suggested, the male looking up at her worriedly.
"oh uh... yeah i guess..." he turned and plugged his phone into the speaker, playing his song and skipping to the prechorus as well, waiting for the right beat. the song was dark yet meaningful, the lanky boy dancing with a straight face the whole time. he did his best not to, but he couldn't help but look at hyunjin as he danced, as if he wanted something out of him. as if he wanted his approval. but hyunjin gave him nothing of the sort.the song finished and felix sat down, the girls clapping enthusiastically, whilst hyunjin clapped slowly and minho didn't clap at all. "that was good," the blonde said with a small smile, felix thanking him and letting hyunjin plug his phone into the speaker next. the song began playing, now being the second song by billie eillish; i mean she does produce some bangers.
hyunjin danced elegantly to the music, letting the beat carry him away from the room, the stress, and away from minho. the male was nonstop running through his mind, and he hadn't the slightest clue as to why. he was mad at minho, furious at him for saying what he said. hyunjin wanted nothing to do with him, yet here he was still glancing at him every so often as he danced.and then there was felix. hyunjin liked him and thought he was a really great person, but he wanted nothing more than friendship from him. he could tell that felix's feelings were a lot stronger than his own, but hyunjin didn't have the courage to tell him otherwise. he had let down so many people in his life, and he didn't want to add felix to the list. his song came to an end, and the four clapped him back to his seat against the wall.
