"sit down there," hyunjin said, pointing to his bed on the far left side of the room. minho did as he was told and perched on the side of the bed, holding his injured hand in his lap. hyunjin came over with a first aid kit, sitting beside him and opening it up.
"it may hurt a little," he said, holding the other's hand while he wiped it with a cotton swab. the older male winced as it wiped over his cut, cleaning away the blood from the surrounding area. hyunjin then pulled a bandaid from his kit, unwrapping it and placing it over the wound. "there," he said with a face of accomplishment.
"thank you," minho muttered. "i'll be going now." he stood up from the bed and made his way to the door, the younger male immediately following him, and holding onto his arm.
"wait!" he said, making minho turn back to face him. "aren't you going to tell me how you hurt yourself? or why?" hyunjin just stared into the older's eyes, as if they were begging him to stay.
minho pulled his arm away from the other, and turned again to the door. "just because you cleaned my cut, does not mean we are friends." and he left the room, unintentionally slamming the door as he left.
hyunjin sighed, sauntering back to his bed and laid down. he curled up into a little ball, feeling worthless, lonely. he felt like he had screwed up every chance he had at friendship. the fact that his roommate had left the room as soon as he had moved in further proved his point.
all he wanted was a friend.
as the male shoved his hands in his pockets once again, he felt the chilly breeze push through his brunette locks, finally out of the stuffy apartment block. unlike the residents there, minho was lucky enough to live only a ten minute drive from the college. it was his parent's home, and he didn't mind that. it meant he didn't have to worry about getting a job just yet and he could focus on his studies.
he decided to grab a bite to eat before he went home, so he picked up some crepes from his sister's favourite little cafe. he would always bring her something sweet to eat in the morning. it was their own special tradition.
he slipped his key into the lock, opening the door with a loud sigh. his parents were already at work, so he didn't have to worry about them pestering him about whatever they could. minho made his way straight to his sister's room, opening the door with a wide smile.
"big brother!" she greeted, reaching her arms out to him for a hug, which he gladly reciprocated.
"hey minjee. guess what i brought," he said, holding up the bag.
"crepes!" she shouted with a big smile, excitedly reaching her arms out for the sweet treats.
minho sat down on the bed next to each other, handing minjee her crepes and digging in to her own. he enjoyed spending time with his little sister, and he took every second he could to be with her.
because he never knew when her time would run out.
