five months later...
minho pushed himself through the crowds of people, holding tightly onto his graduation cap as to not lose it as he ran. he muttered out small 'excuse me's and 'sorry's to everyone that he passed, most of them paying him no mind as he made his way through, until he finally found his friends. "changbin, chan!" he called out to them, waving his hand high in the air with a wide smile.
the two turned towards their friend, replicating his smile as they waved back to him. "quick minho, we're gonna take a picture," chan said, calling him over while he held his phone up in the air. minho was quick to join the two of them, giving the camera a wide smile as chan snapped a picture of the trio. the three friends embraced each other, holding on tight before breaking apart again.
"wow minho, you're really moving to seoul now huh?" changbin said with a sigh, gazing at his friend with a small smile. "we're really gonna miss you, you know," the short male continued, patting minho's shoulder twice before just leaving his hand to rest there. minho looked down with a smile before meeting changbin's eyes, giving him a small nod.
he then turned to chan. "what are you gonna do? have you decided?" minho asked him.
chan shrugged his shoulders with a small laugh. "i don't know; i might audition for a company, become a producer, or an idol, or both. i haven't really decided yet," the eldest concluded, giving both of his friends a satisfied smile. "i just wanna live a life i can be proud of." the other two nodded, agreeing with him.
"HEY YOU GUYS!"
the three turned to see jeongin coming their way, one of his hands waving in the air while the other held onto seungmin who he was dragging behind him. they reached the group, jeongin showing them a beaming smile. "we wanted to come and congratulate you all on graduating and wish you all good luck," jeongin said, his eyes landing mainly on chan, for obvious reasons.
"thank you guys," chan said to them both with a smile, the other two also thanking their younger friends. they spoke for a little while, and minho was content on just listening to them. it made him happy to see everyone together and happy, despite the year they had all just had. it had been a rollercoaster, and they had finally reached the end of the ride.
minho glanced down at his phone, noticing the time. "shit, i've gotta go guys, i still need to pack some more things before i leave," he said, a hint of sadness in his voice. he frowned as he stared up at all his friends, who payed their farewells to him one by one. "i'm gonna miss you guys," he finally said, feeling his eyes water as he looked at each one of his friends.
"goodbye guys."
"hey, its been a while hasn't it? i'm sorry i haven't visited sooner, and now i won't be visiting you for a long while. you know, it's a really big decision for me to move to seoul. i'm moving away from everything i've ever known. i grew up here, my friends are here, and mum will still be here. but even though i'll miss everything, i'm ready to move onto the next stage of my life, and to make new memories.
"i wish i could have done more for you. i wish i hadn't of left you back then, and i blamed myself for what happened because of it. but i've come to realise that i had no control over it, and i'll never know if it would have played out differently if i had made a different choice. but i have no regrets. i'm happy that you are resting now, and that you are happier now, i hope. i will do everything i can to make you proud of your big brother."
minho smiled, feeling a single tear fall down his cheek as he looks down at the grave. he places a bouquet down on it, mostly made of white lillies, saying a last final goodbye to his younger sister. he stood in front of the grave for a moment more, taking a breather before watching as a singular white rose was placed down next to the bouquet.
as the person stood straight again, minho's eyes trailed upwards to see the one person he had longed to see for an eternity. his long brunette hair laid perfectly on either side of his face, his eyes like crescents as a beautiful smile adorned his face. it was as if minho had fallen in love once again, the tall slender male before him being his definition of perfect.
"well well well hwang, fancy seeing you here," minho jested, a smirk on his face as hyunjin laughed lightly at his jokes.
hyunjin shrugged, matching his joking smile and nudging minho with his elbow. "well i just so happened to be passing by, and i saw someone familiar," he said, pushing a hand through his hair to get the strands out of his face. he reached forward and entwined his hand with minho's, the two bowing to the grave before making their way towards the exit.
"thank you, hyunjin. thank you for giving me a second chance," minho said sincerely, his eyes full of love as he looked over at the other male as they walked.
hyunjin shook his head. "no, thank you." he knew this time, things would be different. he knew they were going to be okay.
he thought they were going to be okay.
